Now, I had the joy to sit down with Todd about his book called The Alter Ego Effect last year when it came out and I really enjoyed this conversation and so I dove into more around this theme and seeing how we could use it.

In fact, in Todd Herman's book, Alter Ego, he describes a client who actually created an alter ego that was a giant magnet so he could channel and focus his own innate ability to attract new business.

...and really underpins a lot of the research and a lot of ideas that I've shared here today.

The book focuses on metabolic health and its impact on overall well-being. The author argues that most chronic illnesses are rooted in metabolic dysfunction, or "bad energy", which can be addressed through simple lifestyle changes and understanding how our bodies communicate with us. She also emphasizes the importance of understanding our bodies and the signals they send.

"

Today we're talking about Kasey's book, which is all about metabolic health called Good Energy. If you don't have this book, you're going to want to read it as you hear this conversation. Go and grab your copy right now.

And I think the easiest way to kind of really paint the picture of all of this and how I've come to this somewhat radical conclusion is actually to just share a personal story if you don't mind. It's actually about my mother.

And the point of this is that when it comes to chronic conditions, unfortunately the health care system does not deserve our trust because the treatment of these chronic conditions has been an abject failure.

And the beauty of why we can trust ourselves more in the healthcare system is because we have tools now to understand our metabolic health in great granularity for ourselves.

And that thing is what I present as what I call bad energy in the book, otherwise known as metabolic dysfunction, a fundamental problem with how our 40 trillion cells produce energy to let them do their work in the body.

Charlamagne tha God's new book encourages readers to engage in deeper conversations by forgoing superficial interactions and engaging in meaningful dialogue, challenging readers to confront their own truths and face uncomfortable conversations. He advocates for replacing small talk with more substantial dialogues that inspire transformative growth and genuine understanding.

"

This book is literally just a series of topics that I feel like, you know, you could just throw in at a lunch, throw in at a dinner table, you know. Throw in if you're just sitting around on a plane with somebody and you want to have a conversation but you can't.

I've been telling half truths. I haven't been being completely honest. Like I've been telling, you know, just enough of a story to get just enough back, but that's not how you, you know, properly heal anything like you got to deal with it all.

I don't think there's anybody else I trust to share these things with. Not even a therapist, no matter how good the therapist is, no matter how great the therapist is like this individual that I've shared majority of my life with is the only person I feel comfortable, you know, putting all that on the table for.

Stop lying to yourself and stop volunteering those lies to other people. Every single day people wake up and just volunteer lies for no reason. And I'm not saying lies have to be negative. Like they just lie about their life. They lie about who they are. They lie about what they do. And it's like, nobody asked you for that.

I'm living proof. I talk about that in the book, you know, 'Get Honest, a guideline, um, why small talk sucks.' Shameless plug, but I talk about that in the book because in 2016, that's where I was at with it, you know. I'm six years in on 'The Breakfast Club.' I'm having more success than I ever imagined. I'm making more money than I ever imagined, like, you know, I put out my first book, 'Black Privilege,' it's an instant New York Times bestseller. Like we're moving, like things are great. Things are fantastic, but I'm not happy.
