the working group for personality disorders for the DSM-5 ... they actually said, we're not sure that this should be a categorical disorder, which is the type that you either have it or you don't. They suggested it should be dimensional, which means that it exists on a spectrum.

First, there's screening. In order for the surgery to be paid for, quoteunquote, the diagnosis would need to remain.

you can read what they have in the DSM... they've had five revisions to the DSM and every single time they add more things to it which should already make you skeptical that every time they keep adding to it are they really discovering new mental illnesses.

And I read about sociopathy, the antisocial personality disorder part of the DSM.

And I know it has issues here and there. I'm not up on the specifics, though.

Yeah. I mean, I think that book has a ton of issues.

But as far as memory science goes, like I did a little digging and the panel that put together the DSM includes no memory experts and the definitions it lays out. They carry significant risks in clinical and legal settings.

So in 2013, that pesky DSM did not include the word repression or the phrase repressed memory, but defined dissociative amnesia as an event so traumatic it causes the, quote, inability to recall autobiographical information.

This is the book that lists all mental disorders.

Currently, porn addiction is not listed as any kind of disorder or condition.
