Books really helped me. I was starting reading George Orwell's Animal Farm and 1984...

reading his book was just made complete sense like I could see in the little pigs in the animal farm because I see myself I see my grandmother's like oh this is what happened and so I became really good friends with books then of course I've been so inspired reading your book don't burn his book and that was that was years later you were you were already on your way by the time I read my book.

And now we're talking about all of this really politicized stuff. And so I said look there's been this idea on the right that you know it was always like it's always like well the campus crazies will just stay on campus because then they'll go to real life and they'll get mugged by reality to use the old Buckley in line and then they'll stop and they'll go back to normal and everything will be fine, right. Well, that's not what happened. The campus crazies followed into the corporate crazies, the military crazies, the academia crazies, all the crazies right everywhere. And so that's now filtering into where? Into schools, right? Pre-K through 12. And of course this is happening. We see CRT, etc., etc. And the books are a huge part of this.

If people understand the first five books which are by far the most important in all of the Bible

the founders of the country cited Deuteronomy more than any other religious or secular work in in in the in their writings and in their speeches that's how much this book influenced the creation of the freest country ever made

do not show partiality in judgment

you cannot favor the poor man who comes into your court justice is justice it is like a law against social justice there was only justice it's basically it's a law against equity

do not be afraid of anyone only fear God fear of God is the antidote to fear of man

Well, I mean, I would just say, hey Joe, instead of saying no we can't, let's say yes we can. Let's be constitutional. We got a constitution. And yes we can because he reminds me of that guy in the Wizard of Oz, you know, when you pull back the curtain, it's a really small dude.

and then of course there's Kordoroy and Curious George and the rest of them in star contrast to by Curious George which is what they teach at a lot of the schools.

we've got Mouse's first fall and the hungry caterpillar I guess he's called the very hungry caterpillar you know he's eaten through all the fruits and vegetables which I had that book when I was a child they've changed the book a little bit

I think we are at a level of crisis you and I have never seen. It's never happened in our lifetime.

I call universities the Wuhan lab of the woke virus. That's where it was invented. It's where it mutated. It's where it spread.

What the book does is number one, it lays out how and why the radical left took over each of these institutions. But then number two, even more critically, it lays out a positive proactive battle plan for here's how we take them back.

What I advocate is changing the cost benefit analysis and in particular, increasing the costs for individuals and for institutions to go woke, increasing the disincentives.

I do a deep dive into what happened with Bud Light and Target and Disney. And in all three instances, you had companies that put woke ideology above their customers. They tried to jam it down their customers' throats. And in all three instances, the companies faced billions of dollars of losses.

What I think we disagree a lot on is that you think family and faith are a big fix to the problems we have.

I mean, I don't have a family and I definitely don't have faith. So I get it. You're definitely not part of the solution. Maybe I am.

Well, you did in the book.

I said that for the first time in our country's history, membership in an organized religion has dropped below 50%.

Well we've got to wake up the masses to what the issues are because you kind of get back to your life and you think, hey, things are like they always were.

I've never read a memoir like this one before. This is Hunter Biden's book, Beautiful Things. It's breathtaking.

It's more terrifying than anything that Edgar Allan Poe or Stephen King ever wrote.

Oh, you mean Project 2025, which has literally nothing to do with the Trump campaign, and he has repeatedly said that and actually does have some good ideas in there.

But are you talking about that?

The thing that the Heritage Foundation wrote, they're just a think tank that writes papers.

The problem isn't is there a book, it's like how can we only write one book about this and how do we narrow this down?

One of the craziest things that happened over COVID and our book isn't just about COVID. There's so, so much more to it.

I know you mentioned this in your book, Don't Burn This Country, which I read.

I think that that's the case. When given the opportunity, but the problem is, so I think DeSantis handles it very well and one of, I think it was MSNBC asked his office for a comment and they said we will not be commenting.

In 1954, when he was convalescing from a painful back operation, Senator John F. Kennedy had time to think about political courage.

The result was a book entitled Profiles in Courage in which he wrote, in the days ahead, only the very courageous will be able to take the hard and unpopular decisions necessary for our survival in the struggle with a powerful enemy.

And only the very courageous will be able to keep alive the spirit of individualism and dissent which gave birth to this nation, nourished it as an infant and carried it through its severest tests upon the attainment of its maturity.

And I've written a major book on anti-Semitism.

Let's talk about some real topics that Americans care about. I'm afraid we're out of time. Oh, well, of course we are. But we do thank you for being with us. I know I pressed hard, but that's what people are talking about to this day.

There is some other connection. And I think this is in some ways partly what the book's about, like that people want something else beyond just the bludgeoning of politics.

So when I say in the title Everything Will Be Okay. That is true. But you have to do some things to make it that way. You have to make good good personal decisions.

If you are going to do it, one of the things you have to do and like if you're serious about it, you have to ask somebody with competence, perhaps a friend, to do a very thorough opposition research dump on you for your own personal consumption.

I don't know if in our public discourse and in our public policy debates the both sides aren't there yet they're not willing to go 60% of the way there and I don't know what will help us get to that point I don't know what what the issue will be that will help get us there

I also absolutely believe that there are many people who have suffered in this pandemic through no fault of their own. A lot of restaurant owners, waitresses, people that worked in hospitality and we could target specific money to them.
