For all the years that we've been talking about all of this stuff that now is known as wokeism which you write about, obviously, but all of the culture wars and all of the things that are happening, should we have been yelling louder, say, seven years ago

And then suddenly places like eBay are saying they're not going to carry the books anymore and now libraries are having very important meetings to decide whether they can have the books in stock, you know, in the libraries or not.

And the deal with that is that Dr. Seuss is actually a far greater threat to the liberal establishment than mine comp is.

They won't even publish certain Dr. Seuss books, but they allow mine comp to be sold on Amazon. They allow mine comp to be sold on eBay.

But the publishers announced they are no longer going to publish six of the books.

when all this craziness happened this week, I went into the garage and I found my copy of all the places you'll go, which pretty much everyone gets when they graduate college. And if you read this book, this knows is the true threat to the establishment because you know what this book is about? Individual responsibility that you might be able to accomplish something for yourself in your life. And the government doesn't have to do it before you.

So the only thing that they can do is kick it off. And I don't think it's getting any better because I don't think that we're fighting it in anywhere near the right way.

They're going for books from literally 1937, 1941, 1947. We're so tolerant in 2021 that we take out books a hundred years ago in the name of tolerance.

I think this might be the most dangerous but just to be clear as to what's happening here people, the company that publishes Dr. Seuss books and there's at least 39 of them. There may be more.

Congratulations today is your day. You're off to great places you're off and away. You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own and you know what you know and you are the guy who'll decide where to go.

this is about individualism this is about freedom this is about going to get what's yours and we've you know that just can't this is 2021 okay this isn't you know 1941 okay when you could just go out there and do what you want

the self-empowerment of this book the idea that you should go out and get yours the idea that the world is yours to conquer that it's your oyster and you've got a chance because you've got a brain in your head and feet in your shoes that is the most dangerous idea out there so get this book

I first came to Budapest around 2018 on a book tour, but also I came a year later to do research for my book, Live Not by Lies, which is about the message that people who survived communism in Europe, Soviet communism, the message they have for us in the West today about the new, softer totalitarianism that they see emerging.

Science is getting pretty banged up these days.

Science means knowledge, it doesn't mean wisdom.

books are magic they are the implantation of an author long dead perhaps although not for you or me hopefully for many centuries to come and the wisdom distilled you know per word the price per word of wisdom in a book Carl you hopefully me these are really invaluable things and I think of these as hacks and these scholars that I profile in the book they all make use of that and credit these great you know scientists and authors that came before.

No, I mean, non-binary is not backed by science whatsoever. And so X would be, I guess for some people who wanna be special, that's what they would have designated on their driver's license or passport or birth certificate now.

We don't have those data yet. And I think it would be really impossible next to impossible to to collect them objectively in today's political climate, because that would be seen as inherently transphobic.

So as Marissa said, I think a lot of this comes down to intersectional bingo in that people are if especially if you are white and a man, how are you going to escape being called an oppressor? The best way to do that is to pick a new gender identity.

And if you're non-binary, say, or if you wear a dress, well, you don't really have to do anything other than wear that dress. And I mean, as I sit here, I could tell you that I'm non-binary and you'd have to call me they them. How terrible is that?

I have found that there's a whole series of books by Howard Fast and others who I've wanted to turn into films. And I've been told, no, no, that's agitprop. That was communist agitprop. Are you crazy?

I've been telling good news stories for many years now. I do a feature on Fox News Radio called the Dean's List. And it's a 60-second feel-good story about a person doing kind things for someone else or doing something that brings sunshine into someone's day.

I wanted to put this book out in the universe for other people to read, to show them that there are good people doing kind things for others all over the place.

I got so much out of writing this book more than I ever thought I would.

I'm still the half, the glasses half full. I'm still the mostly sunny girl. I'm also an advocate who wants to shine sunlight as a disinfectant.

Sometimes you just have to really look for it because if you're not open to it and you don't open your heart to it then it might not come to you.

One book I absolutely recommend. I've read it at least three times and it is an incredible framing of America and the right ideas and why this thing is precious and an experiment and we better not give it up is it's Still the Best Hope by Dennis Prager.

Dennis has a way not only of speaking, but of writing where he can get complex ideas out in a very, very clean, mature way.
