Yesterday, I could not remember David Axelrod's last name. I was talking about his book Believer. I was talking about excerpts from it.

He wrote a scathing biography about Donald Trump in 2018 called Fire and Fury. While Trump cooperated with the book, for some reason people keep cooperating with Michael Wolf.

When Fire and Fury, the book, came out six years before this October surprise, the White House called it trashy tabloid fiction, saying it was filled with false and misleading accounts.

If you go back and look at Donald J. Trump's books that he had written prior to actually winning the presidency, if you go back and you look at all the speeches he gave on illegal immigration, take out the great chant of build the wall. What you heard this president say before he was the president was that he was going to put in a multifaceted approach.

He's the author of the great book from a few years ago called the Revolt of the Public, published on sub stack and one of the very wise published it, republished it over at the Free Press.

And in particular you spend some time on crime like a number of aspects to crime and I'm definitely interested in the homelessness and the drug problems too very interested but on the crime it raised something for me because I know you take a deep dive into teens and how there's been this movement to sort of decriminalize teens because that's turned into a thing that's supposed to be racist or inhumane that we need to understand you know teens shouldn't be held accountable for their bad behavior and what that's led to.

But, you know, I remember reading her book and there's a story where I don't totally remember the details, but where she talks about this guy who had had a pretty traumatic, chaotic childhood, had sort of achieved the American dream, had a pretty stable, happy life, a happy marriage, and just like drops dead of a heart attack at 63.

She stole it when she told it to Fallon. She stole it when she put it in her the preface to her to her 2010 book, Smart on Crime.

You get that energy from your your parents or the thought of, hey, I have to fight for what's right and I'm going to get out there. And I mean, when when were you out there protesting?

Well, I was in a stroller. I was in a stroller. And so I was out there. And in fact, my mother used to have a very funny story about I was fussing. And she said, Kamala, what do you want?

And she said, Kamala, what do you want?

And I said, freedom.

This is what my book on Manhood is substantively about. It's saying to men out there, listen, don't believe the left when they tell you that it's terrible to be a man and that just by being a man, you're somehow contributing to the destruction of the world.

Be a good man.

And let's talk about some role models about what it looks like to be a good man, to be a father, to be a husband, to be a builder, to be a warrior, somebody who contributes to society, who provides and protects for the people that he loves.

It's good to be a woman. It's good to be a man.

You're a boy. That is awesome. You're a woman. That is awesome.

It teaches on things like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control.

It's not like children in public schools today are struggling with mental illness, drug overdoses, cyberbullying, and school shootings and could use a book on kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. What was I thinking?

I don't know if you saw the movie Life of David Copperfield or just came out. There's another one that I just saw the ad for on Netflix. It's a new series on Netflix, and it takes place in the time of David Copperfield.

He has literally written the book on The Right. His book is called The Right, the 100 Year War for American Conservatism.

I love this because we always approach our lives... as if we're the first people to ever be here.

And for any of your audience who may not be familiar, this was a very famous comic novel that came out in 1971 by Jersey Kaczynski. It was called Being There. And it's about a guy who is just sort of through luck and circumstance, plucked into the into the halls of power.

And he says very little. And he sort of speaks in inanities. But because this is so original to them, they take him as an oracle and he winds up being considered for vice president of the United States.
