it's actually a really excellent side topic a book by an author named Jersey Kaczynski called Blind Date and Jersey Kaczynski wrote the book Being There which was made into a fantastic film starring Peter Sellers but in Blind Date he actually was friends with Roman Polanski and was supposed to be at this house when these murders happened he writes sort of a fictionalized account of how he managed to not be there and what ended up happening and sort of the aftermath of it but he doesn't really write it as a first person from his own perspective so it's very interesting if you want to learn more about it that's a good place to start
