I have it tattooed on my arm as a reminder.

I think my bestselling book is The Obstacle Is the Way, but who's counting?

If you could avoid the adversity, great, you know, you should be, no one should have to learn, as you said, from the death of a child or from a bankruptcy or a robbery or, you know, a natural disaster.

The past is history. The future, a mystery. But today is a gift.

Three words, 4,000 weeks. If you are lucky, that's your average lifespan.

I laughed because my first thought was, this is a book for my assistant, Abby.

So it's not as morbid as it sounds, the 4,000 Weeks. You're not trying to bum us out or depress us.

It is really startling. It is a little bit scary. And I plead guilty to wanting to startle people.

It's really relaxing because I think in the long, hopefully I can unpack this a bit. But if you really think about what it means to be as finite as we are, one thing that you can see is that huge amounts of the way we try to do everything and get our arms around everything and not miss out on any experience and answer every email, we can just give that up because it's just not going to happen.

Everything we're seeing is in that book. It's the Bible. It's all there, and it makes sense of the chaos.

Ego Is the Enemy is another one of your books.

She's author of Countdown, how our modern world is threatening sperm counts, altering male and female reproductive development and imperiling the future of the human race.

And it's not just reproductive function in and of itself. It's you know, has impacts for the health of that person. And by the way, a man or a woman who are less fertile will on average die earlier.

And by the way, the only chemical that has a syndrome named after it is phthalates. You don't talk about the pesticide syndrome or the, you know, dioxin syndrome. We talk about the phthalate syndrome.

The book again is called countdown. How our modern world is threatening sperm counts, altering male and female reproductive development and imperiling the future of the human race.

The name of the book by the way is "The End of Race Politics", "The End of Race Politics" by Coleman.

And I've read your book twice because I wanted to give it a chance. Your argument that race has no place in that equation is really fundamentally flawed.

The case for color blindness, "The End of Race Politics" I think.

I love this thing, I read the book twice because I wanted to give it a chance and she was like, "This is a piece of shit."

Glenn C. Loury's new book, Late Admissions, is unlike any economist memoir I have ever read. Most don't mention picking up streetwalkers or smoking crack in a faculty office at Harvard's Kennedy School or in an airplane at 30,000 feet or stealing a car or having sex on a beach in Israel with a mistress and attracting the attention of the audience.

It's all out there. It's a gambit. I mean, one strategy would have been let me craft my self presentation to make myself look better, to make myself look attractive. Let me try to win the reader over through artifice. I didn't want to take that route.

The strategy is let me tell the truth, the whole truth, the bitter, ugly truth, but also the beautiful truth, the noble and humane truth about my life. Let me lay it bare and rely upon the reader's I won't call it sympathy, but a perception of the humanity of this person who's talking about his life.

I fought the enemy within, but in truth, he was no intruder, no stranger. I cannot disavow his actions anymore than I would deny my own because his actions are my actions. I am that enemy within. The game goes on.

I think that we need to somehow get our minds around where we fit within this vast creation, this vast universe in which we inhabit. And I was a born again Christian and I fell away from it. And I try to talk about that in the book.

The name of the book is Nine Nasty Words, he's a thinker.

Mehdi Hassan, who's sitting there nodding the entire time and has his own, it was his show on MSNBC, has his own, let's just say history of making comments about Republicans in very derogatory ways.

And I believe later in that clip also had his own thoughts on Nikki Haley to slam her in seemingly racial ways. He has a book out next week called Win Every Argument, The Art of Debating, Persuading and Public Speaking.

He's going to go after racist bridges...he's going after Robert Moses...Robert Moses was a who built most of New York...was a stone racist and...
