It's not just a love letter to our founding fathers and famous people. It's it's a love letter to anybody who's ever put on the uniform to defend those ideas and risk their lives for you and me and everybody list.

This is still for people who who really do believe our country needs to be better and constantly improve, but nevertheless love it.

It's a hell of a thing. I don't I it's it's amazing to think that in our lifetime, Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan, who tore each other's throats out by day arguing over policy, would go out at night and have a steak and a bottle of wine and and talk to each other like Americans.

This is not just about what we should stand for. It's about what we shouldn't stand for.

It's different from all of the other ones. But the reason I wanted it in there was because it has to do with judgment and it has to do with what people will do in order to get to the heart of a thing, the truth of the matter, the character of a man.

Our country doesn't have a partisan problem, a political problem, a social problem or an economic problem. We have a spiritual problem.

In the absence of God, Americans across partisan lines have turned to government and celebrity for their gods. They have gone off to worship idols.

At the core, they have reverted to the original mistake made in the Garden of Eden. They choose to see themselves as gods.

If you go to the Old Testament, there are all these commandments for the Israelites of you can't have tattoos or mixed fabric clothing or eat certain foods.

A Christian is supposed to be someone who stands out and acts a little weird to the culture around them and seems to have a little joy.

It was discussed in detail throughout the podcast, covering the potential benefits, risks, and dangers of superintelligent machines becoming smarter than humans. The book's central theme was the importance of ensuring that any future superintelligent machines are aligned with human values.

"

I just use it as a term for any form of a general artificial intelligence that greatly surpass humans in all cognitive abilities.

I think it is highly likely that it will eventually come into existence. I think almost a certainty if we avoid destroying ourselves through some other means before, but if science and technology continue to advance on a wide front, then I think eventually we'll figure out how to produce high level machine intelligence and super intelligence.

A possible scenario is we create a machine, a computer that has general intelligence below human level, but is superior mathematically. And in this scenario, human beings understanding the risks of creating a super intelligent machine would take safety measures. They would pre-program it, for example, so that it would always work from principles that are under human control.

It's kind of unrealistic to think that everybody, all the different countries, all the different labs would decide to refrain from pushing forward with this when it has such enormous potential for positive applications in the economy, for medicine, for security, for arts and entertainment, for practically any area at all where human intelligence is useful, which is pretty much any area.

I think that if there are advances in AI, it's going to have a big economic impact. I mean, it might be that if you get Superintelligence, then the effects on employment will be... At some point, if you have sufficiently generally capable AI, basically all jobs become automatable.
