But I'm not feeling any of this. So like something's up. And so I started very, very slowly introducing some new experiences and ideas. I even went to my bishop and I was like, look, I'm telling you, I'm going to go on a date with a dude. We're not going to do anything that would disqualify me from any of God's blessings. And I'm going to feel it out.
Peace and long suffering. Right? But I'm not feeling any of this. So like something's up. And so I started very, very slowly introducing some new experiences and ideas. Babe, I'm rereading a book about trauma right now.
I found myself yesterday, I read books as the people that I love who I'm going to give the book to.
I was reading the book thinking I'm going to give this book to two people that I love.
And then I was reading paragraphs, imagining myself to be the person that I love and what epiphanies they would be having if they were reading that paragraph about their particular childhood trauma.
Because I thought, oh, this book is going to help them so much and they're going to read this and they're going to know that what they're doing in their life is really just a result of childhood trauma.
It was described as a popular fantasy series, which was very popular on BookTok and was compared to a simplified version of Game of Thrones, but with sexier elements.
So I have just finished reading the A Court of Thorn and Roses series. I was having so many people ask me for my professional opinion on it. It got super popular. It was really big on BookTok.

So I finished reading that series and I definitely found it to be really interesting. It was, it's kind of like very, a lot of fantasy, almost a much more simplified version of Game of Thrones thing, but like some, you know, just more sexy elements mixed in.

This book that I love called Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. He's a neuroscientist. In it, he talks about sleep and dreams. It's very scientific, but then it's also very beautiful in the way that he speaks about dreaming and the idea of when we sleep, what's happening in our brains.

Time Management for Mortals
Oliver Burkeman's '4,000 Weeks' was brought up in the context of understanding how limited time actually is, contrasting it with the common misconception that we have a million weeks. This book was mentioned as a reminder that we shouldn't fall into diet-culture thinking, believing we can achieve success through strategies and resources. It was also highlighted as a powerful realization that life is finite and we shouldn't waste it on things that won't truly make us happy.
Oliver Berkman in 4,000 weeks, which first of all he asked like a thousand people how many weeks the average human life has and they're all like 100,000 weeks.

Oliver Berkman in 4,000 weeks, which first of all he asked like a thousand people how many weeks the average human life has and they're all like 100,000 weeks.
Yeah, I would have 200,000 weeks. The average human life is 4,000 weeks.
We all get a million weeks.
But he talks about this a lot about how like that's a lie and it's very similar to diet culture to think, well, if I only had this one strategy, it would get done.
Or this is my moral failing that I'm failing to manage all of this. And if I just keep gathering strategies and keep gathering resources or put that extra hour in or put the whatever that I'm going to make sense of all of this and be successful.

Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism
The author of "My Grandmother's Hands" compared reading "White Fragility" to the act of telling someone they are going to run a marathon tomorrow but haven't taken any preparatory steps. The author, Resmaa Menakem, did state that he and Robin DiAngelo are close and that he loves her, but this was in the context of criticism.
So I told you I read Robin Angelo's White Fragility, So I'm All Set, that's the equivalent of the, I don't trust your fucking judgment.

I mean, and me and Robin are tight. I love Robin. I'm just saying probably half the people that are listening to this read that book.
That's what I'm saying. They read it and they, and it was good and they ain't read it again since.
They haven't grabbed another white body and said for the next 30 years, me and you going to roll around race specifically.
And we are going to cultivate between ourselves a different way of understanding this. And we may not be able to get to what we think we need to get to, but at least we're going to nibble on this.
