But Orwell actually comes out better than most in the wash. It changed his life. He was shot in the throat on sentry duty. Wrote a wonderful book about it, in which he doesn't mention being shot, I don't think, but called Homage to Catalonia.
Great book, but it changes his worldview completely.

Kris Newby, author of "Bitten", discussed the origins of Lyme disease, suggesting a possible link to biological weapons testing near Lyme, Connecticut in the late 1960s. She detailed her research into the early outbreaks and the subsequent government secrecy surrounding the issue.
Lyme disease is caused by a spirochetal bacteria, and you get it through a tick bite.
The problem is it's very often misdiagnosed or diagnosed late, and that that's where the controversy comes in for the disease.
And to complicate it, a tick can transmit up to like 20 different disease-causing microbes, and so if you have like two or three or four of those in one tick bite, it creates a confusing set of symptoms that doctors have trouble diagnosing.
Well, the thing I found in my research for my book is Lyme disease wasn't a problem, a noticeable problem, until the mid-70s.
It's been The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons. And I have to say, I didn't prove that Lyme disease is a biological weapon, but I'm saying something unusual, which I think is related to the biological weapons program, had it happened in the late 60s and the government wants to cover it up.

God is real. There are two genders. Fossil fuels are a requirement for human prosperity. Reverse racism is racism. An open border is not a border. Parents determine the education of their children. The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind. Capitalism lifts us up from poverty. There are three branches of government in the United States, not four. And the U.S. Constitution is the strongest and greatest guarantor of freedom in human history.

This book was mentioned as an example of Austrian economics literature that Ron Paul found fascinating early in his study of economics and monetary policy. It was described as not a little book and one that explores why people love liberty and how human action plays a factor in economics.
And the first campaign I ran in was purely out of just curiosity. It was in 1974. You know, the Republicans weren't doing very well in 1974. So I did it because nobody else would run. . . When I got really excited about it was when Bretton Woods broke down. You know, the Bratton Woods system. And that issue, it was just fascinating with me because the monetary issue was there. And I would look at all the literature. It turned out that what I was reading was Austrian economics, free market economics, and monetary policy. And to me, it's so exciting. It's because the other economic systems are pretty sterile. And they're pretty boring where Austrian economics takes into the factor of Human Action. Of course, that's Mises' book, Human Action.
And I remember one of the books I started when I got involved in economics was Human Action. And that's not a little book, you know.

I think it's one of the most interesting topics there is.
What are the hallmarks? What are the signs of the kind of revolution that's destroyed so many countries?
the point of a system is what it does
the churches are in the closet
if the point of a system is what it does and every so-called communist revolution from the Maoist revolution to the French Revolution to the Spanish Civil War to the Soviet, the Bolshevik Revolution, they all targeted Christians and maybe that's the real enemy for them.
