I did not know that it was a Stephen King book. I thought it was an original idea... It was written in 1982... It was one of the books he wrote under his pseudonym, Richard Backman.

I read the book as a teenager. I read the book before I'd seen the Schwarzenegger film, so I was aware that it was drastically different. I was always interested in doing a new adaptation because I thought this book hadn't really been adapted.

I think I write about that very effectively in the book and you know it has been really great to see the book be successful and be number one and the best civilist and all of those kind of things and selling really well internationally

So decades ago, 15 years ago, I wrote down, I was bored. So I wrote the porn chapter, which we talked about. And I just put it away.

And then one weekend I gave it to my wife who used to be an editor. I said, hey, sweetie, read this.

We were in bed and there's nothing I enjoy more in life than making my wife laugh.

And she was reading this in bed, shaking the bed and we weren't having sex or anything, shaking the bed with laughter.
