Alone In Berlin

It's one of the best second halves of a book I've ever read. It's just mesmerizing. And so then, and then I realized I made a film. And so I just, I didn't know that you had made that film. And I watched it. It was beautiful. It was lovely. It's such a great story.

Alone in Berlin is, I mean, I'm kind of slightly obsessed with both wars, actually, because I think they left traumas in our country, in the UK, that have never really been healed or addressed.

I'm reading Alone in Berlin. It's a novel written by Hans Falata.

It's about the working class in Berlin who weren't on board with the party. And they were trying to kind of... It's based on a true story of this couple who were putting postcards all over Berlin and basically resisting Hitler in whatever way they could.

And there's this insane line in the novel where the wife is talking to the husband when he's telling her about this idea. And she says, "Isn't this so small? Isn't this enough?" And he said, "Whether it's small or large, it will still cost us our life if anyone finds out."
