He also referenced it as his first publication, noting that he has since authored six books in total.

Episode: Erica Rhodes, Mayhem, Motorcycles & Huak Tuah

Adam Carolla mentioned that he wrote this book 15 years ago, and it was about how dumb society would become in the future. It was ahead of its time and proved that Mike Judge's movie 'Idiocracy' was on to something with its portrayal of a declining society.

"

And so every time I see something crazy in our society and a lot of it is just like really stupid behavior and or the fact that you can't go into a store without everything locked up in a cage now because we're such fucking animals now that we're going to steal and loot and steal the razor cartridges and stuff like that.

But I wrote a book called In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks 15 years ago. And people are sort of like. It's not true. When it came out, I was like, oh, get the fuck out of here. But I was like, I got ideas.

It was about the author's experience coaching little league with his dad and how they used it as a time to bond and heal.

"

The book is called Making It Home Life Lessons from a Season of Little League

I think the juicy stuff inside this book is all about my stepmother

that'll be for the next book

I think this is my favorite on the side of the Santa Monica Angels

that's a chapter about my brother's all star team which was in Santa Monica

Baseball is like church Many attend but few understand

It's insightful It seems like initially like shallow but if you think about it like oh no that's exactly what church and religion is so that's pretty good

For the parents of a little leaguer, a baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings

It's so funny you talk about this like that quote about the baseball and like the parents that's the opposite of Adam's parents

The nervous breakdown When can I get out of here? What the fuck is this? I hate these people

It's so nerve-wracking and so even when I'm watching the major leaguers like we took the kids out of school early because we got tickets to the playoffs Diamondbacks, we live in Arizona, Diamondbacks, Phillies

How many, like my husband has been a lifelong Phillies fan and he's never been to a playoff game so we took the kids out of school early, took them to the game, Phillies lost and then we decided we were bad luck and we stayed away for the last game which the Phillies won but now they're back in Philadelphia anyway

That's just good science. Right, thank you because there's a sense that you control the world like when the Phillies lost here we had to ask ourselves what could we have done differently today

All of the most of the chapters begin with quotes and many of them are famous baseball quotes so here's a chapter Chapter 6 is called Hello, Goodbye, Shalom, and Play Ball and that starts with the quote Baseball is like church Many attend but few understand

I love that one It's insightful It seems like initially like shallow but if you think about it like oh no that's exactly what church and religion is so that's pretty good

And this is another one for any parents of little leaguers This is a quote by Earl Wilson For the parents of a little leaguer, a baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings

I love that As we're recording this, the Phillies are probably losing to the Diamondbacks When I came in here we were down You know my husband's from Philly so I had to convert I think we were down four runs in the fifth inning so I don't think we came back but I'm too scared to check the score

I love that you're so into baseball and like how much that's permeated your life based on your sons.

It's such a beautiful testament to how much you love them

Masterpiece I have three physical copies, I own an audible copy I bought it I'm still reading the paperback copy and I have the audible copy, I have two chapters in I kind of screwed myself because I restarted it and that's like a video game where you're halfway and you're like what do I do now

I start that other one or I go back and just finish a paperback Theresa's always encouraged me to be a better reader and recommended many books to me over the years, she's kind of like my secret book club. But going back to the clips

Making a Home, Life Lessons from a Season of Little League.

Episode: Jay Mohr + Teresa Strasser (Carolla Classics)

Teresa's book, a memoir about a season of Little League baseball and grief, was described as incredibly well-written and hard to put down.

"

I couldn't put it down. It's a masterpiece.

It's a Grief book, but hopefully, it's also funny.

If you love Teresa, you're gonna like her book regardless what it's about.

Little League Baseball gave me a way to be with my dad in all his eccentric multitudes.

Episode: Patton Oswalt + Teresa Strasser (Carolla Classics)

It was mentioned in the context of Teresa's book tour and podcast appearances. She discussed the audiobook, its subject matter (her dad and a Little League season), and the process of recording it.

"

So my most recent the title T Making It Home life lessons from a season of Little League on the on Adam show with with Orny Adams there or any got Thorny We were talking about the audiobook and I was telling them That I my audiobook directors this man named Scott Sherratt and he is the Spielberg of audio book directors everybody Bono Questlove Oprah everybody and I Was so nervous because I'm not a voice actress and this book is about me and my dad It's also about a team of Little League players. So there's a bunch of different kids. I have to differentiate coaches my husband My son my brother in flashbacks my dad and I'm not a voice actress So I was really nervous how I was gonna do it

It's called Making It Home life lessons from a season of Little League It's a book about grief and specifically one season of Little League that I watched with my dad After my brother and my mom died four months apart I know it sounds griefy, but hopefully it's also funny And what you're about to hear is from the prologue if you like audiobooks, I think this one's pretty good

By the way, Adam Krola and dr. Drew both also provided blurbs, which was very nice, but Cal Ripken jr He has set a record for consecutive games that will never be broken

It was written quickly and touches on topics such as the economy, healthcare, and immigration. He mentioned the book is selling well and he is proud of the impact it is having.

"

The book, by the way, let me get the book out. Crippled America.

It's very good. You know, you know what's sad to me, Donald?

The problem is I can't, you know, I only sign so many of them and a lot of people want to sign but and I just don't have time to do that.

Well, you know what I was thinking about with you just moments ago and I thought this is a very good quality to have in a president and I think it's one I humbly suggest you you hit upon which is you delegate you must delegate. You cannot do what you do without a ton of delegating and a good leader does that and can do that effectively.

So you know, that's part of the deal, but it's it's been I mean, it's been really fantastic. It's done really really well and in its own way Adam, it's you know, it's it's not just what's wrong.

Episode: The 9th Annual Ace Awards (2015)

Donald Trump spoke about his book "Crippled America" and how it's selling well, but he can only sign so many copies. He also mentioned that the book addresses not just the problems of America but also how to fix them.

"

The book, by the way, let me get the book out Crippled America, how to make America great again. Right? Yeah.

And the book is selling like crazy. The problem is I can't, you know, I can only sign so many of them and a lot of people want them signed.

And it's been, it's been very successful. Well, you know what I was thinking about with you just moments ago?

And it's not just what's wrong. It's how to fix it.

It's probably, we did the book in like a month and they got it printed so quickly. It was incredible. And so I was impressed with the job they did.

He mentioned learning new things from each page and that he aimed to present them as human beings, both good and bad, allowing readers to form their own opinions.

"

Every page I learned stuff.

George Washington is mad at his mother. Washington's mother did not like him and humiliated him, wrote letters to the local Virginia newspaper saying my son George is starving me to death.

So did they teach you that in high school about George Washington? Every page of confronting the presence we have stuff like that and it's not just a gossip book I did this to humanize these 45 men to say look they weren't myth we have a tendency to mythologize our presidents. Okay, not anymore, but we used to and I said no these were regular human beings some good some bad. We lay it out you make the decision on which one's helped and which one's hurt the country.

And obviously we go forward to today I saw a tweet yesterday that basically said you know Biden's been you know out of the cockpit for several months now let's just say and Kamala Harris is traveling around doing a debate prep and you know kissing babies and nothing has changed in the country so the folks that have the kind of conspiracy theory which really isn't even a conspiracy theory that there's a sort of cabal of people that run the country and we don't essentially need a president or vice president because things just run on while these people are either busy or incapacitated seem to be seem to have some evidence that that's true now.

I know Anthony Bourdain has thoughts about eggs Benedict. I would say welcome to food you never order anytime, any place, unless you're at home making the hollandaise sauce fresh on a Sunday morning made with the dew of Mount Olympus and the tears of an angel. I never recommend getting hollandaise sauce. It goes incredibly bad immediately and it's like you're eating a garbage pail kid. Wow. Did not know that. That was a review I just read. That's from a kitchen confidential. He also said don't order fish on Monday. That's right. Don't order fish on Monday unless you're going to a brothel.

And if you haven't read the book about Manson, it's just an unbelievable. So Manson was clearly, you know, a federal agents too strong, but a source there's an amazing book and unfortunately, I'm 54 so I forget book titles now, but I read it last year called Chaos.

I can't quite do it justice, but there's a reassessment of the Manson family written by a liberal celebrity profiler from LA who started out doing a 25th year anniversary piece.

I feel like I was the only person who had read it till my son gave it to me, but it's fascinating. But basically what it concludes with a lot of evidence is that the feds were all over that story.

I have I have the title Chaos Charles Manson the CIA and the secret secret history of the 60s. It's an amazing book and it's not crazy.

I really do recommend it and you'll know every I mean, it's about LA so you'll know everything in the book and a lot of the people.
