Episode: Hour 1 - What Will George Do?

Riley Gaines, host of Outkick's Gaines for Girls podcast and author of Swimming Against the Current, spoke about her experiences fighting battles on college campuses and witnessing the effects of progressive policies.

"

There's lots of progress being made, lots of impact being had.

There's no doubt about that. To address your point specifically about younger voters here, being a recent college graduate myself, speaking on I think last semester I spoke on 25 different college campuses, campuses ranging from smaller private Christian schools like Truett McConnell or College of the Ozarks and of course everything in between until like Cal Berkeley, Princeton, Harvard.

But I will say to that point, I think there's a lot more people like me than the media lets on, people who are saying, I mean, that's really what it boils down to. It's kind of this battle of crazy versus normal. There are a lot more normal, level-headed, reasonable people out there than what we think. But in terms of impact as a whole, what we are seeing across this nation, look, 26 states are now suing the Biden administration for their illegal administrative rewrite of Title IX. I don't think we would have seen that two years ago. Now we've seen over 10 states have some sort of preliminary injunction introduced so they do not have to comply to this rewrite, this new proposal when it takes effect on August 1st. 24 states have some sort of fairness in women's sports bill. Again, I don't think we would have seen that two years ago.

Even the way people are talking about these issues, I think we've reached a point where people are willing to say, look, that's a man. Like, look, that's a naked man at the parable of the emperor wears no clothes could not be more true than it is at this blip in time in America.

And when you talk about credibility, I do think that's a big part of it. And with a lot of younger adults, too, to where authenticity matters. How do you see that playing? Because obviously, you know, the Biden administration, I think, lacks often test authenticity in so many different respects. But in terms of policy, seeing through that, are they now taking a look at Trump and maybe realizing what they've been missing?

Episode: Hour 3 - The Best of Clay and Buck

It was described as a book about fighting for common sense in a world that has lost its mind. Riley Gaines, the author, spoke about the need for equal opportunities for both sexes, particularly in athletics, and how the Biden administration has rewritten Title IX to equate sex with gender identity, which could have negative consequences for women in sports and other areas.

"

She's got a new book out swimming against the current fighting for common sense in a world that has lost its mind.

It comes out today swimming against the current because she's a great swimmer.

But what they have done, they have taken this 37 word, only 37 words in its original implementation in 1972, with one word being activity, which I think allowed Title Nine to be what it was most notable for in giving equal opportunities in sports.

But really what this does is it equates, in a nutshell, it equates sex to gender identity.

This now means that men would have full access to bathrooms, locker rooms, changing spaces.

Episode: Daily Review with Clay and Buck - May 21 2024

Riley Gaines's new book, released on the day of the podcast, was discussed in detail. She was interviewed about its content, which centered on her views on the issue of transgender athletes in women's sports.

"

Riley gains, she's got a new book out swimming against the current fighting for common sense in a world that has lost its mind. It comes out today swimming against the current because she's a great swimmer so that all makes sense and she's also at outkick which clay founded uh and riley thanks for being here with us

It's insane is what it is, but you asked me where the issue stands while we keep seeing these negative stories, I really and truly do believe that the tide is turning. I believe every day people are waking up speaking to the to the story in Oregon uh we saw for really the first time again it's the same story a mediocre man becomes a record smasher on the women's side He won the state championship in the women's 200 meter dash He stands atop the podium and the crowd booed that would not have happened two years ago

It's not even what they're trying to do clay it's what they have done the biden administration has rewritten they rewrote title nine of course title nine was the federal civil rights law that once prevented sex-based discrimination on educational programs that receive federal funding colleges ymcas things like that high schools even but what they have done they have taken this 37 word only 37 words in its original implementation in 1972 with one word being activity which I think allowed title nine to be what it was most notable for in giving equal opportunities in sports of course a lot broader than that but what it's most notable for they took this 37 word piece of legislation and rewrote it to a almost half a million word proposal 1577 pages long again from 37 words
