Tom Petty made basically a whole album called The Last DJ where he explored all of this stuff and in one of the songs it's written from the perspective of the music executive who, you know, one of the lines is give me a kid with a good-looking face, give me a kid that can remember his place.

It's available on YouTube. I watched it in its entirety yesterday and it's very funny, so I recommend it highly.

Dusty has a Netflix special, which is very funny, called Working Man.

It has a very unique style, but it's endearing and fun to watch and funny and charming.

And kind of brings the jokes around.

Lots of smart callbacks and interesting concepts. Highly recommend it.

There's a couple moments that stood out to me and one of them is chronicled in a book that I wrote a couple years back.

Carol Hoeven is at Harvard. She wrote this book called Testosterone, and she made this very compassionate argument saying that we should be kind to trans people. We should use their pronouns, all this kind of stuff about being nice and open hearted. But biological sex is real and we can't pretend it's not.

the conceit of the book is that the financial crisis in 2008 like that was the great Like earthquake event in American politics that that that sparked this populist uprising...
