I started writing this book...it's the Dean's List...Fox News Radio came to me many years ago and said, we need some...content for Fox News Radio in between commercials, between shows...something that's about a minute long. Do you have any ideas for us? And I'm a radio gal. I started out in radio. And I just thought, oh, the Dean's List, a minute long, good news story that I did on Fox News Radio.

And when my editor, Eric Nelson from HarperCollins came to me after Mostly Sunny...he said, do you have another book? You know, what do you think? And I told him about the Dean's List. I said, you know, I only get a minute to talk about these good news stories, but I know that there's way more to dig into when it comes to some of these amazing people that I'm featuring.

And he said, great. It sounds like a chicken soup for the soul type of book. Remember that book a few years ago? Gosh, it must be 10 or 15 years ago. Yeah. And it was a huge success.

And so I started writing it before the pandemic and then the pandemic happened and I was writing most of it during the pandemic...it got me through the darkest moments of the pandemic. It was a book I feel that was meant to be written not only for people to read about these wonderful individuals, but for my own sanity, for my own self-care.

It's, it's a book about kindness and...and shedding light on these wonderful people that really...they are the epitome of humanity.

I've been telling good news stories for many years now. I do a feature on Fox News Radio called the Dean's List. And it's a 60-second feel-good story about a person doing kind things for someone else or doing something that brings sunshine into someone's day.

I wanted to put this book out in the universe for other people to read, to show them that there are good people doing kind things for others all over the place.

I got so much out of writing this book more than I ever thought I would.

I'm still the half, the glasses half full. I'm still the mostly sunny girl. I'm also an advocate who wants to shine sunlight as a disinfectant.

Sometimes you just have to really look for it because if you're not open to it and you don't open your heart to it then it might not come to you.
