when I was 26 I read it and I just flipped out I mean it was one of those experiences where somebody is writing just for you where they're like in your mind and you're reading every page and it's like boy this person knows exactly how I think

Princess Bride like imagine trying to pitch that well it's a comic fantasy it's got Andre the Giant in it it's got Wallace Shawn in it you know Robin Wright's in it too right and Carrie Elwes you know at the height of his Carrie Elwesness Death cannot stop true love all it can do is delay it for a while how can it possibly work how can it possibly work inconceivable

The Princess Bride is by William Goldman. It is hilarious.

It pretends to be an abridged version of a different book, started with William Goldman telling stories to his own daughters, and is an important part of finding joy in a hectic world.

Obviously the first time I noticed it, it was the Princess Bride.

It's something random like The Princess Bride, Ocean's Eleven or Finding Nemo.

Why? Because he's 12? What? You haven't seen The Princess Bride?

Matt, in The Princess Bride, the gatekeeper's name is Yellen, and the albino, at least in the book, is his cousin. So it's quite possible the albino's family name was actually Yellen.

And last week, I observed, again, not as an insult whatsoever, but I observed that Janet Yellen, the Treasury Secretary, looks a lot like the albino who runs the torture chamber in Princess Bride.

Matt quoting the Princess Bride earned himself for the spot of best YouTuber in my book.

And yeah, I'm an unapologetic fan of the Princess Bride. I think it's you can't call it one of the greatest films ever made, certainly, but it's one of the most rewatchable movies I think ever made.

I think it's sort of like Princess Bride.

People are outraged because the CEO of Sony hinted that Sony might be cooking up a remake to The Princess Bride.

Just leave The Princess Bride alone Sony, just leave it alone.

There are some movies that are, there's no conceivable way to improve upon them. They're nearly perfect as they are and this is one of those.

Here's an idea, if you want to make a movie that's sort of like The Princess Bride, a movie that's inspired by it, a movie that's in the same vein as it, then just make that movie.

After a Princess Bride joke fell flat.

The Princess Bride, written by William Goldman and directed perfectly by Reiner, is, quite simply, the best family fantasy film since The Wizard of Oz.

You know, William Goldman, who wrote Princess Bride, was just telling those stories, making them up to his daughters at bedtime and then wove it into the book. And then that became the screenplay.
