What do they think when he says that he can execute with SEAL Team 6, he can order SEAL Team 6 to execute his political opponents and not face any criminal repercussions? What do they think when he says he's going to terminate the Constitution? What do they think when he says he's going to execute insufficiently loyal generals who aren't lackeys to him all the time? What do they think when he says all of these things that Vladimir Putin doesn't even say publicly?

Well, you listen to some of Vaughn's interviews. They think it's great and say that if Trump doesn't win this time, they think they should have a civil war and go state legislator by state legislator.

If you read like Madeleine Albright's book on fascism or any books on the rise of dictatorships, this is how it happens.

And this is this is a great follow up to your last extraordinary work, which you say you say in your defense, your books do usually have happy endings. If we want them to have happy endings, they will have happy.

It takes effort to create the happy ending. It doesn't happen automatically. There's no law of history that gives it to us.

And I think something different happened, that some of the ideas and especially the corruption of the autocratic world instead came in our direction. And that's what my book is about.

How do we convince people that autocracy is safe and stable and secure and democracy is divided and chaotic and degenerate or even sexually degenerate? And people put a lot of money and effort into writing those stories and pushing them out in lots of different ways and convincing people of them.

So it was actually often changes of ownership. It wasn't direct censorship like in the olden days.

I will also say one of the best books written about Richard Nixon and none other than the aforementioned Pat Buchanan agreed Rick Pearlstein, no, no right winger by any stretch of imagination, wrote an extraordinary book called Nixonland.

Because, you know, this this war Putin is trying to justify this war because of very recent history. And Russia is poisoned with historical myths. And I think that we need my mission was to debunk all those historical myths created by Russian propaganda, because most of Russian historians, unfortunately, were propagandists for all those years. And unfortunately, historians in the West sometimes followed that imperialist historical narrative.

Russians and Ukrainians are the same people. Ukrainian language is not the real language. But as Putin believes, it's like wrong Russian.
