I completely repudiate that. I'm with Tom Holland, you know, not SpiderMan, but the popular historian Tom Holland. It's a book called Dominion.

Tom Holland, a historian, wrote a book recently called Dominion.

He became extremely interested in the question, how did this world sort of cease? And how did the world that we know come into being? In particular, what transformation in particular was brought by the rise of Christianity? The book he wrote was called Dominion.

So that was Dan Brown. That was Tom Holland so rude in Dominion, which is your magisterial book about the history of Christianity and how it has shaped the Western world, indeed the entire world, Tom.

So this is the moment Tom from Dan Brown or Tom Holland's book, Dominion, your own book when Luther, a man whose writings have been condemned as heretical comes face to face with a prince of the church and inquisitor, a cardinal who has the power over him.

when I was writing Dominion about Christianity and its moral influence, I couldn't actually find many.

I've just written a book, Dominion, which goes from 480 BC right the way up to the present day, a history of Christianity called Dominion, available in all good bookshops, folks.

Tom Holland, the historian who has popularized this idea in his book Dominion that all of Western civilization is essentially Christian without realizing it.

So we've taken what were once non-obvious, controversial, ethical, contingent statements, things that a lot of people thought were true, a lot of people thought were false, were quite radical, quite controversial. And they've so successfully embedded themselves into our culture because of the rise of Christianity that we now describe them as self-evident truths.

It's just self-evident that every person has worth, that slavery is wrong, all of this kind of stuff.

And Tom Holland's thesis is something like, well, what you don't realize is that it's actually come from Christianity, even though you now don't realize it.

So if you cut off the Christianity, you cut off the basis for this entire Western ethic in the first place.

There's a great book if you're super nerdy and you want to read it it's incredible it's written by a non-Christian author so I actually think it's even more credible uh by Tom Holland called dominion awful title great book um but it's all about how he argues that what we consider to be normative uh morality in the west is an inheritance of Christianity.

The, the, the argument that's made by Tom Holland in his book, Dominion, in many ways, Me Too, despite Me Too being a secular movement, traces its origins back to that first sexual revolution, right?
