I talk in my book on woke quite a bit about the New York Times and the New York Times is an incredibly important institution because almost every other reporter in America reads the New York Times so when the Times covers something it gets amplified by 10,000 other outlets and and the Times number one is very comfortable with propaganda the 1619 project was designed as a revisionist history writing of American history to make race front and center to push the lie that America is irredeemably racist and and that the American Revolution was fought to preserve slavery which is utter and complete garbage it has been refuted by multiple very very uh credible and respected historians but the New York Times doesn't care they're still pushing it in fact they're developing they've developed a program a curriculum that's being taught in elementary schools and junior highs across the country but one of the things I talk about in the book on woke is the editor James Bennett the former editor of the New York Times of the editorial page he lost his job and why did he lose his job he lost his job because he dared to publish an op-ed from a Republican senator which is shocking it was Tom Cotton yeah it was an op-ed that was calling on Trump to call up the military and use the military to put down uh the violent riots the Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots and I should say actually Tom's op-ed I didn't find very persuasive I thought it would be better handled by law enforcement rather than the military but Tom made an argument and James Bennett so James Bennett is a reliable liberal a knee-jerk liberal has been his whole life he was the editor of the editorial page of the New York Times he obviously disagreed with Tom's op-ed he thought it was terrible he thought it was wrong but he made a decision this is a point of view that our listeners should be aware of and when he published it the woke children the 20-somethings at the New York Times revolted by the way James Bennett his brother is Michael Bennett a sitting Democrat senator from Colorado like this guy you were talking about are they regretting bringing people in and then getting consumed by the monster they've created that's what happened to James Bennett they fired him because he dared acknowledge that anyone disagrees and about and I guarantee you the next editor got the message we are Pravda there is one and only one view the cultural Marxist narrative is the only thing we will say because if I even acknowledge there is anything else other than the truth trademark whatever we say the truth is at that moment if it's two plus two equals five it is five it has always been five it will always be five unless tomorrow we decide it's 14.

I wrote at length in my book One Vote Away that I was quite concerned about Justice Kavanaugh and how he would rule on a challenge to Roe.

I wrote this book this spring and summer during the COVID lockdown. I was working from home and so I was in my living room and sat down at the computer and wrote it.

And it's designed to do really a deep dive into the Supreme Court, into what's going on. Every chapter is on a different constitutional right and to tell the inside story of what's happening at the court.

I put a lot of time into this book and it really tries to tell what's going on. You don't have to be a lawyer to enjoy this book. I wrote it actually in the same spirit as we do the Verdict podcast, trying to assess complicated issues, issues that matter, but trying to explain them, giving the inside insight.

And as we've talked about this podcast, as you know, I've got a new book coming out October 6th called One Vote Away about the Supreme Court.

There's an entire chapter in the book on school choice.

And I talk about, there's a landmark case at the Supreme Court called Zelman versus Simmons-Harris where it was a challenge to the Ohio School Choice Program and the court upheld it five, four.

Eventbrite canceled pages for events hosted by college Republican clubs concerning Matt Walsh's What Is A Woman film.

Now, critically, no one involved in the decision, this is what they told the committee, watched the movie What Is A Woman.

So they never saw it. And they couldn't identify anything objectionable in the trailer. So they just didn't like the topic. So they decided to take it down.

They relied instead on Matt Walsh's statements about, quote, gender affirming surgeries, pronouns, and his Johnny the Walrus children's book to reach the conclusion.

Concerning Matt Walsh's what is a woman film and it also canceled pages for an event featuring swimmer riley gains for violating its terms of service now critically. No one involved in the decision. This is what they told the committee. Watched the movie. What is a What Is a Woman? So they never saw it. And and they couldn't identify anything objectionable in the trailer. So they just didn't like the topic. So they decided to take it down.

You can learn about the works of C.S. Lewis, the stories in the book of Genesis, the meaning of the U.S. Constitution, the rise and fall of the Roman Republic or the history of the ancient Christian church.

So let's talk about this book. Let's talk. I mean, the topic of this book, censorship, speech codes, woke culture, political correctness.

I think what is helpful about your book is for folks that are trying to understand this, your book does a good job of tracing the history of it and making it so you can understand what really is going on.

And I think, frankly, if I had to pitch it to you, Senator, the best thing about this book Speechless is you get to learn what these kook, crazy, just terrible, dreary, polysyllabic, awful writers say without having to slog through 10,000 pages of their impenetrable, terrible prose.

So when I was a kid, I was a big fan of it's a seven book series that's called The Great Brain.

So it's so it's by guy named John D. John D. Fitzgerald and it is about a family in Utah on the late 1800s.

Let me give it an analogy from literature. And you're going to laugh at what the literature is, which is a children's book that I read as a kid. Did you ever read the series called The Great Brain?

The Great Brain is a seven book series that I read as a, I don't know, as a kid. It's by John D. Fitzgerald, J.D. Fitzgerald.

And he is the younger brother and it's talking about his, the middle brother, Tom D. Fitzgerald and the older brother, Swen D. Fitzgerald. And Tom, the middle brother is a con man.

I have a whole chapter in the book on what is called menticide. I didn't coin that phrase. A very formerly very well-known and prominent psychiatrist named Dr. Juice Mirlew coined the phrase, wrote a book called Rape of the Mind, where he goes into, it's really a step-by-step of how you break people down, how you decondition them, how you radicalize them, how you do all of these things. And the menticide chapter, I deal with transgenderism and the trans agenda.

Meticulously researched and exceptionally written. Manufacturing Delusion is more than a book. It's a tool to protect your mind and soul.

So, if you look in the book of Numbers, chapter 22, so Balaam, he wasn't an Israelite. He was with the Mennonites and the Moabites, but he was someone to whom God spoke.

So, Numbers 22, starting with verse 22. But God was angry because Balaam was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as an adversary against him.

And so our listener, Balaam's donkey was a wonderful biblical reference that as a graduate of Second Baptist High School, I am embarrassed that I did not recognize immediately.
