They manipulate language so that they can win the debate before the debate ever begins.

You mentioned you're having a book come out. Is this one actually going to have words?

Well, you know, Megan, I decided after my bestselling blank magnum opus, Reasons to Vote for Democrats, I thought it would be a curious challenge to write a book with words.

So the title of that book is Speechless.

It is in a way providential, I guess, that the book happens to be about exactly what is going on right now, how we got here through this political correctness regime,

I wrote a whole book called Speechless about the limits of the First Amendment.

You know, coincidentally, I did just write a book on this very subject called Speechless: Controlling Words, Controlling Minds.

Senator, this is backwards in so many ways. You opening the show, Verdict with Michael Knowles and craziest of all, a Michael Knowles book that actually has words in it.

And the words are pretty scary. Like on every page. On almost every page.

So let's talk about this book. Let's talk. I mean, the topic of this book, censorship, speech codes, woke culture, political correctness.

I think what is helpful about your book is for folks that are trying to understand this, your book does a good job of tracing the history of it and making it so you can understand what really is going on.

And I think, frankly, if I had to pitch it to you, Senator, the best thing about this book Speechless is you get to learn what these kook, crazy, just terrible, dreary, polysyllabic, awful writers say without having to slog through 10,000 pages of their impenetrable, terrible prose.

As a result of my blank book, I was offered the opportunity to write what the publishers called another book. Now I pointed out this, I had not at that point done anything that could reasonably lead them to conclude that I could write an actual book with words, but I got a book deal out of it.

And I wrote a book about free speech called Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling Minds. It came out a few years ago.

And I'm a little slow to publish because conservatives in media have a book out every single year and it's always, you know, how to own the libs and so can you. And it's got a smirk on the cover and everything. And I'm not really into that.

So when that book came out, I'm happy to say it hit number one on the publisher's weekly list, number one national bestseller, which of course means the New York Times wouldn't even acknowledge it.

I learned that a lot of what we have come to regard as just, and I'm talking on the right, I'm talking among conservatives. A lot of what we've come to regard as the nature of our American regime and the kind of nature of the founding and how we understand ourselves in free speech is kind of bunk

Your upcoming book, Speechless, is going to have a few more words, I presume I don't have the advanced copy yet. But you're the type of guy that it would be very easy for them to just take out. You've said scary things in your day. And I say very scary things in my new book.

I hope that you pre-order the book. I won't be surprised if the book is then taken off. I hope I hope that it will be available somewhere else. But I do think that the book is scary to them because one thing that conservatives have been pointing out is they're they're getting rid of Dr. Seuss, right?
