I'm Dave Rubin and joining me today is a former Navy Intelligence Officer, the senior editor at Human Events and the author of The New Children's Book. I've got it right in my hand right now. The island of free ice cream, Jack Posobiec, welcome to The Rubin Report.

So it's like Ashley St. Clair and Elizabeth Johnston and there's some other big names. Actually I think they just announced it so I can say this now that Dan Crenshaw is going to be the next one coming out with a book.

And when you walk into one of these commercial bookstores lately, books Millian Barnes and Noble, I swear it's like the first book I see it's always this table that set out and it's children's books and every single one of the authors their last names is either Biden, Obama, Clinton or Harris, right, Mina Harris, Denise.

So the right has been playing in this game or not even just the right but people who just believe in traditional values, basic American values totally seeded this space, just totally seeded this space and said, Oh, it'll correct itself, it's self correcting. Don't worry, this isn't some big thing. Guess what folks? It is.

And it's actually got. And this is the one thing I said to them. I was like, look, I don't want to do one of those big, preachy things where it's some story and then all of a sudden, you know, Jack Pasobic walks over and is like, well, kids, let's talk today about the virtues of the free market and Milton Friedman and I ran it like, no, no, no, no. Like I don't want to do that stuff.

It is my first book and will probably be my only book.

And I said yes, that I will write.

I don't like to scream and yell all day long.

It's part of it's what we've never done before

It's not just the yell and scream. Everything sucks. This is the history of it. This is the issue. This is how we have to attack it every single time. I tried to lay it out as kind of a how-to manual with steps we can take. Plus there's some humor in there as well.

you couldn't publish...Lady Chatterley's Lover...before about 1960 without worrying about being dragged into court. We got rid of all of that and then we created the internet...

or if you read the book iRobot by Isaac Asimov,

It just talks about two Americans in rough circumstances, physically with Teddy Roosevelt, almost died, asthma and all that. Lost his wife and his mom in the same day, even though he had money, it doesn't mean he had an easy life. And then you have another guy born to slavery until he was nine years old.

And I read up from slavery and I put the book down, I could not stop thinking about it.

And I went to the Roosevelt people and I say, am I dreaming to talk about this friendship or is this just a couple of years? And he goes, no, no, this is real, not often written about.

If you wanna kneel down at a US national soccer team game because you don't feel as though life is fair for all races, creeds and colors, get a perspective.

He was born in the segregated South as a slave, loved the country and all he did was try to educate generations at Tuskegee and then spread that throughout the country without any bitterness, without any hate.

The book was initially commissioned by Simon and Schuster, one of the two biggest publishers, I believe I'm right, saying in the country.

Simon and Schuster signed a contract for the book before it was written, so it commissioned me in that sense to write the book. I wrote it, they saw it, we're happy with it.

And then in January, they said, oh, actually, you know what? We're not gonna publish it. We don't think you should be able to, we don't think you should be able to speak.

They never reached out to me personally. I read this in a press release.

And he said, well, why? What are you gonna say? It was like, well, we'll be putting out a statement. And so it's like, well, I guess we'll read it. I guess we'll read the statement, which is what I did. I read their statement, which directly, I can't remember the exact words now, but basically said that, well, Holly helped to decide a riot on Capitol Hill.

And we don't really know where it came from. That's what our book is about, trying to understand. And, you know, frankly, there have been coverups. There have been obfuscation. There's been a blockage of information. It's disgraceful.

There was an appalling attempt to censor away the possibility that this was a laboratory origin virus.

And then suddenly at the end of 2019, a disease caused by one of these viruses breaks out in Wuhan.

So, you know, prima facie, you've got to take seriously the possibility that this came out of a laboratory.

And as you say, we've spent 18 months being told that that's a nutty conspiracy theory that shouldn't be allowed in mainstream media. And you know, why? Why should we censor a perfectly reasonable scientific discussion of this kind?

Conservatism as we know it has failed while liberalism was eroding the foundations of our culture, the family, the nation and religion. Conservatives adopted the very principles that ensured their defeat.

Conservatism is an Anglo-American political tradition...that puts the idea of transmission and stability of the nation at the center.

the deterioration has been really clear, you know, almost a straight line since the 1960s, even the 1940s.

the Bible is the fundamental text on which Western tradition was built.

there is no such thing as a neutral state.

Andrew, my friend Andrew, our friend Andrew Doyle wrote about that book, in his book, The New Puritans.

America, a Redemption Story is a book that I see as a positive view of the world as it is, not as I hope that it will be.

the pain that I've gone through has helped to clarify my purpose, that my obstacles have become the opportunities. And frankly, the mess I made of my life has become my message.

it's a positive book, but it's not one of those pie in the sky hoping that something will be different than it is. It's the reality of what is.

There is a way for us to bring forth a positive message in the midst of the chaos.

It talks about it in race. It talks about it with the former president. It talks about it in winning and losing elections. It talks about it through this economic challenge that we're going through right now.

This is from the Post Millennial in a letter to former girlfriend Alex McNair. Obama allegedly confessed that he had repeatedly fantasized about engaging with men in sexual relations.

Garrow said that around when his book Rising Star came out in 2017, McNair sold the originals, which ended up at Emory University.

Garrow said that when Emory got the letters, they put out a press release stating we've gotten these rare letters by Barack Obama, but did not mention any paragraphs that were too sensitive.

The writer sent his friend to the Emory archives where he copied down by pencil the paragraph that was redacted in which Garrow says Barack writes to Alex about how he repeatedly fantasizes about making love to men.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'm uncomfortable with taking the vaccine at this time.

What it is that you do with your body when it comes to putting medicine in there should be your choice, free of the ridicule and the opinion of others.

I don't believe that being unvaccinated means infected or being vaccinated means uninfected. You can still catch covid with or without having the vaccine.

It really is a journey about my life, overcoming fear and anxiety and how our relationship with Christ helped me to do that.

The book is so much more than just about standing for the bubble and standing in the bubble and refusing a vaccine. It really is a story about my journey and how I got to those moments in the first place, and so I believe it to be encouraging and inspiring.

Yeah, absolutely. I think most people would get really shocked that, you know, how dare you compare North Korea to America. And of course, I'm not comparing them. Living standards are the same. However, the tactics that North Korean regime used to control people and brainwashing was the same tactics that I'm seeing right now in current America.

And more and more every single day living in Chicago and New York City, I see this country getting destroyed.

In America, we currently don't get executed for saying the wrong thing. Maybe we get censored, we call the racist and bigot and we lose our job, we lose our dignity. But we still the consequences of standing up is not that as high compared to North Korea and China.

The book is What Time Remains, which is just a perfect title too, because there's urgency. There's urgency because before you know it, it's gone.
