Elizabeth Warren, you know, the senator, she used to be a rather interesting law professor at Harvard Law School. She wrote a book called The Two-Income Trap, in which she explicitly opposed universal child and family care because she said what this does is it essentially creates a disincentive for women to stay home and take care of their kids if they want to do so.

It forces family into what she called a two-income trap, driving up the price of goods and services by requiring that both parents work as opposed to one staying home.

Also as people like Elizabeth Warren used to suggest right she wrote a book called The Two-Income Trap back when she was actually an interesting politician in the early 2000s.

There was a book by Anne Rand called Atlas Shrugged. And I read that book, which is where did they go into hiding? And so I already bought my hiding place.

In it a young boy imagines what he'd do with the local zoo where he in charge. It's Seuss. So the boys conjurings are wild weird creatures whose names rhyme with their points of origin.

In the Seuss drawing the bird thing is perched on a pole being held by two caricatures of African men that are so obviously and immediately racist that it was almost breathtaking.

I wrote a chapter of my book, The War of the World with the title Tainted Victory, making the point that there were all kinds of moral compromises involved in the victory of the Allies, one, not the least of which was that they were in alliance with Joseph Stalin and the totalitarian Soviet Union.

War of the World shows why the policy of appeasement was adopted by Churchill's predecessors Stanley Baldwin and Neville Chamberlain and why it failed not because of naivety but because I think of a miscalculation about what would happen if you just played for time.

This is the hot new book pushed by Oprah Winfrey that suggests that America is basically like the Indian cast system

the narrative drawn that America is just like Nazi Germany or like the cast system in India is so patently absurd on its face

So for Oprah Winfrey she's now pushing this new book called Caste. This is written by the same person who suggested that there have been only three durable Caste systems in world history, Nazi Germany, the United States and India which is patently crazy.

Karl Marx's Das Kapital. The book is often radically misinterpreted by both its supporters and its critics.

Capital is really long. Reading this cover to cover is a serious commitment.

Marx's theory of surplus value was utterly and completely specious.

If you read Das Kapital, the basic idea is that Marxism is just going to magically arise and usher in a new world order.

In the end, the only thing there is to Das Kapital is a bunch of gobbledygook that results in basically nothing.

And the whole thing is hysterically funny because it is a bunch of upper crust radical leftists who have benefited from the systems of the United States patronizing the Black Panthers who show up and are telling them how white pigs should be killed and all the white people are just clapping for them.

Empathy is where you put yourself in somebody else's shoes sympathy is where you sympathize with somebody else's positions empathy makes you elevate certain people above other people because you're empathizing with them. So empathy can actually be a problem in politics there's a great book called Against Empathy by a psychologist all about this
