It's like we encourage you to get into your Bible, you know, get into your Quran, get into your Torah, like get into the Septuagint, whatever you read and hold it up against our show and try to prove us wrong. You know, we're not going to quote scripture in the show, but try to prove us wrong.

By the end of today, I need all the books pulled from the library and classrooms. More information will be sent regarding actions for these books and included in that list was the Bible all versions and and Frank's diary.

I mean of all the books that are could potentially be banned I mean the Bible is full of sex and violence and gorge and misery Christ our Lord and Savior was nailed to a cross and you know stabbed in the side and well you know I'm in the parlance of Christians Christianity you know forced to wear a crown of thorns I mean as we all know the Mel Gibson film The Passion of the Christ it was massively popular amongst the Christian community but when you really watch it it is ultimately like torture porn it is incredibly sadistic in the violence that it portrays so I do think it's interesting that like the Bible is unimpeachable in terms of like literature but the fact that it made the list here is very fascinating to me like what is the mechanism of discerning you know what is and is not appropriate for young people to have access to in the library especially in a state like Texas where obviously you know Jesus is everything and like you know religion is a massive mover and shaper of policy and ideology and upbringing and all of that good stuff so it makes me really question what the mechanism of looking through and deciding what books it feels like someone made a mistake and it obviously was a very sexy headline to say Texas bans the Bible like have we gone too far

The first sentence tells me in the beginning, that's time. God, our creator created the heavens, that space and the earth, that's matter.

And all the way through this book, it makes total sense to me. And that's why I believe the way I believe.

The Bible is the best book ever written.

a lot of the wisdom that we talk about, no matter how you believe, you don't have to be sold out for Jesus. If you want good principles to live by, to be successful in life, there's no better place to go. Than the Bible.

I didn't grow up with many books or ideas. What I did grow up with was the Bible.

I spent a lot of time with my Bible and actually found it very empowering.

Like it was a great text to just open up to a page and kind of have a deep conversation with myself and with the universe.

Dude got me two books. Very, very slow. Do you normally start that slow? Generally, yes. Why? It just kind of gives us the time to settle down a little bit. You know, take a second. More like, hint, don't. Take a second. Take a second. Yeah. That was absolutely incredible. So how long have you been doing stand-up?

I joke very much so they always hold up the art of the deal I say my second favorite book of all time but I just think the Bible is just something very special.

You mentioned the Bible you've been talking about how it's your favorite book and you said I think last night in Iowa some people are surprised that you say that I'm wondering what one or two of your most favorite Bible verses are.

I wouldn't want to get into it because to me that's very personal you know when I talk about the Bible is very personal so I don't want to get into verses I don't want to get into it.

The Bible means a lot to me but I don't want to get into specifics.

Even to cite a verse that you like. No I don't want to do that.

The Bible is special. The Bible, the more you see it, the more you read it, the more incredible it is. The whole Bible is an incredible I joke very much so they always hold up the art of the day. I say my second favorite book of all time. But I just think the Bible is just something very special.

two Corinthians, right? Two Corinthians three seventeen. That's the whole ballgame where the spirit of the Lord, right where the spirit of the Lord is. There is liberty.

I think many. I mean, you know, when we get into the Bible, I think many so many and some people talk an eye for an eye. You can almost say that that's not a particularly nice thing. But, you know, if you look at what's happening to our country, I mean, when you see what's going on with our country, how people are taking advantage of us and and how they scoff at us and laugh at us and they laugh at our face.

You know, David, they say great art like the Mona Lisa. Some people, they look at it and it doesn't look as great at the beginning. And then they'll look at it by the time they see it many, many times, it becomes the most of they can't take their eyes off it. Whereas art that's not great. You look at it looks beautiful at the beginning, but you don't you get tired of it.

I don't like to use this analogy, but like great movie, a great, incredible movie. You'll see it once be good. You'll see it. You can see it 20 times and every time you'll appreciate it more. The Bible is the most special thing.

That book is actually the Bible.
