We watched the hate you give so he said oh wow we watch 13 documentary, you know, so he's starting to see why these things are happening.

I'm reading, I read this book is called The Course of Love and in it, the husband and wife, they do a lot of like fantasy role play. And in the fantasy role play one time, the husband brought up like a character they both know, like somebody who worked at a coffee shop or something.

And I was talking to my wife about a book I was reading, Iron Flame.

And I made a comment that I had a crush on the main character.

Oh, Lion King for sure. The animated or the animated? The remake is bullshit.

I mean, you should read Logan Urie's book. I only bring that up because she talks a lot and she's not the first person to mention non-negotiables and pet peeves, but she spends a great time talking about in that book about that.

But there's a book called getting to I do and it's the worst title for a book But it just talks about if you want a commitment with from a man you have to learn the science behind sex and how it bonds us to men and how we're yin and yang and how? There's masculine energy and there's feminine energy.

Those holes Nick I really want you to read it's called getting to I do and I know everyone's rolling their eyes at the title It's terrible but it just teaches you so much about your psychology and sociology of male men and women relationships and and pretty much any homosexual relationship.

I first podcast episode I talked to Augustine Fuentes who is a primatologist Anthropologist who wrote a book called The Creative Spark about Creativity in the human species our evolution and survival depended on it Completely.

I think, you know, growing up in Wisconsin, you're just like, and you watch movies like the help or, or A Time to Kill or higher learning.

I'm that person who knows everybody who works on docs. And I was already a fan of all their work. And I was waiting for Manhunt Osama bin Laden to come out. So I thought, oh my God, these people are known for their journalistic integrity. So I already felt safe in that moment.

But when watching the doc back, that was a different experience the first time because, you know, seeing the Shandy story play out, someone who was my favorite that season, who I thought was going to win. And I was, I'm lucky that I've been able to see Shandy since the show and she knows how I feel about her. And I always felt that she was unfairly positioned in the show. So to see it play, especially at the top of episode two in Reality Check, I mean, I, I started bawling.

I wrote her the most lovely email of gratitude. And I was happy that I was to help her realize her dream with the show. She'd always encouraged me to branch out.

I thought about calling in sick that day, just so you know. But there were no sick days on Top Model. And I knew I would get in a lot of trouble. So I went and I was extremely uncomfortable.

My message for fans and for all of the girls who participated and, and, and hopefully at some point, a lot of these producers and directors who still work in the industry and are afraid to speak. My message would be to continue the dialogue, continue the conversation.

Do you know them all? Yeah, that was two years before The Wizard of Oz came out three years before my dad was born.

My therapist recommended that I read this book called She Comes First, which is written for men, really. But man, women can get something out of reading it, too.

You got a new book coming out.

It Begins with You.

The book was born out of the fact that I went through a lot of trauma a little over 10 years ago with the breakup of my marriage and the death of my mother and all sort of happening at the same time.

And so part of it was just a way to distract myself. But I started working with people, couples first, because the couples therapy that he and I had was so bad. And I don't believe, I'm glad I'm not with him. I'm not supposed to be with him. And so two things can be true at the same time. And the couples therapy that we had was terrible. And I thought, there has to be another way because this model doesn't work, at least in my experience.

So it was very difficult. I turned a big mess into something very meaningful.

The book is called. It Begins with You. It Begins with You.

Did you grow up watching, I mean, The Parent Trap as a young child with the original version? No. My mother. That was my mother's generation. Okay. And she wanted to be Hayley Mills when she was younger.

I got to write a kid's book. Dear Luca. Yeah. Inspired by my son and his strong emotional intelligence; we wrote the first one about being brave because of what he has to go through with his diabetic treatments.
