And we have an interview with the man at the center of it. David Garrow is a Pulitzer Prize winning historian and author of the book Rising Star, The Making of Barack Obama.

When Rising Star was first published in May of 2017, Barack had left office four or five months earlier and we were in the early stages of the Trump presidency following that astonishing 2016 election.

And generally speaking, I was very happy with the review attention. The Washington Post named one of the 10 best books of 2017.

But I believe only one fairly obscure conservative website mentioned it at the time.

In 1986, Garrow released Bearing the Cross, a biography of Martin Luther King Jr. For it, he won a Pulitzer Prize.

Johns is a very nice, important updating of my Bearing the Cross.

In 1994, he wrote Liberty and Sexuality. It is considered the definitive account of the fight for abortion rights in America.

There's a superb, very recent New King biography by my friend and colleague Jonathan I. EIG, titled Just King.

I got this idea from Dr. Peter Atiyah who's been on the show, whose book has been on the New York Times bestseller list for a long time now.

I just finished this interesting book called From Transgenderism to Transhumanism by a transgender person. And it's really, it's a stupid book, but it's a really interesting book because the thesis of the book is that each person is so completely unique that you can't identify them at all.

He is the author of the brand new book School of Woke, how critical race theory infiltrated American schools and why we must reclaim them, which is out tomorrow.

How is it possible that the average member of Congress is a millionaire, but only like one percent of Americans are millionaires?

It is true that more than half of members of Congress are millionaires. It's actually something like seven percent of normal Americans are millionaires. But still, you can see there's a huge disparity.

And I think that that message really resonated because I actually think that this sense that not only are our politicians richer than everybody else, but that the game is rigged, that they're cashing in on their jobs. I really think it's eroding trust in our public officials and in democracy itself.

Nancy Pelosi, she makes something like less than $200,000 a year as a salary. She would have to work 500 years based on her salary to get her current net worth, which is over $100 million.

It's a great name and it's easy to remember. And it's out today if you want to educate yourself.

It also talks about how Reagan came in because there are lessons in here for Republicans to it on, you know, in the midst of this Carter presidency, which was such a disaster.

And instead of, you know, just spending all his time being negative about Carter and about the state of the country, which would have been very easy, you know, look at what a hot mess we are. He he was that ever sunny optimist and he did offer a new kind of message for the country, which is why he won in a landslide.

And I think that's something that can go a long way. And it's something I'm personally working on. I've told the audience about my Nana. She lived to one hundred and one. She was born in 1915 and she was overweight. She had never exercised a day in her life.

We want to shift the wellness conversation from one of fad diets, of fads in general, of restriction, to literally being one of joy and abundance and integration instead of addition.

And we're trying to reframe the conversation. I think the longevity conversation, if you think about it, is extending years. You know, say let's live to 100 and then longevity evolved to health span, which is quality of life, absence of disease.

Have the cake when you're celebrating in Rosetto style. Maybe you don't do it every single day, but you need to enjoy life. You need to bring back joy. Yes.

It's designed to coincide with Pride Month. And you point out correctly, hello, pride is actually a sin, not something to be celebrated for a month or a season.

Well, it you're right. In fact, it's the it's the deadliest of the dead of the seven deadly sins. I like to say that, you know, gluttony and greed is bad and and sloth, wrath, envy and lust is not something you want to teach your kids. But pride is the pregnant mother that gives birth to all other forms of evil.

And pride is ultimately about self. It separates us from other people. Pride separates us from God. And what I think we want to teach our kids is how to be humble and kind, how to put others before themselves.

It's not an anti gay book. It's not an anti LGBTQ community book. It's just saying, look, if you really want to have relationships and a world that is thriving and being blessed and protected, go with humility, not pride.

It's a terrible message and it has to be stopped.

I think the first thing the American people should take away and hopefully the book demonstrates this is that the majority of the majority in both cases is trying their best to get back to the meanings of the law and the original meaning of the Constitution.

Because Clarence Thomas, who you zero in on, is fighting with the majority in all of these cases.

It it made my heart sing to see an opinion like this so strongly reminding the American people of the power of the First Amendment and chastising states who, in the name of equity, wokeness, however you want to phrase it, try to trample on those rights.

It proves that Justice Thomas has a strong black voice.

And I think what people should step back and see is what Justice Thomas is really championing is the poor and the people that aren't given the tools to succeed.

I thought of you. I haven't read the whole thing. It's like a tome, the decision with all the concurring opinions and dissenting.
