my next suggestion is to get a book that's a lot longer uh it's called gulag archipelago by soljan easton it's three volumes each volume is probably about 900 pages or so start with the first volume read that at least this should be required reading for kids in high school and it should be required reading for everybody

the book is soljan easton's history of the soviet labor camp system he intertwines his own experience in it because he was sent to the labor camps uh so it's his own story it's sort of a memoir slash general history of soviet russia and the labor camp system and it's gripping it's absorbing it's fascinating it's brutal to read and it's important especially now as america threatens to elect a communist president
