Jonathan Karl has a new book out you know and some of the stuff in the book we've heard before Trump loved the insurrection. He bragged about the crowd size. We've heard that before. I don't know if we heard that before.

I thought that was new to me bragged about the crowd size on January 6th. I had heard that before. The one that I hadn't seen is that he refused multiple times to say in the video that his supporters should leave the Capitol.

He also told the Department of Justice to say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to quote me and the Republican congressman.

Trump believed that wireless thermostats made in China for Google by a company called Nest might have been used to manipulate voting machines in Georgia. And Trump asked the director of national intelligence to look into it.

The first book I'd recommend is from my friend Jonathan Karl ... it's called Tired of Winning and it's just a terrific psychological window into Donald Trump in exile after January 6th, after leaving office when he'd become a pariah.

Johnny McEntee was like 29 or something at the time, like wrote a memo to Trump about how he can remove cabinet secretaries.

And like that memo was one of the things that sparked the removal of Mark Esper and other officials who weren't involved on board with the coup.

I had a book out a few months ago, Tired of Winning, and I kind of go through, Trump does a great job of convincing everybody that he is the biggest, the most powerful, the greatest winner of all time. He's actually been a tremendous loser in politics.

He's won one election, and that was 2016, and he led the Republicans on a series of losses, and primarily, you can track the losses. Almost all the major defeats can be tracked to something Trump did.

My point in this book is it's not what he was about when he was president last time. It's how this time will be different.

It's a more ominous book.

It's a look primarily at what Trump has done since he left the White House.

It was an extraordinary period in American history and I wanted to give a sense of what it was like to be a journalist in the middle of that storm.

I want to talk about what's next for Kamala Harris, how you see the race, how you as the author of the book, Tired of Winning, Donald Trump and the End of the Grand Old Party, how the theses from that book sit as we look in today's climate.

I've written three books on him, at least one of which he actually liked. But he said, you're a good man, Jonathan.
