True Crime with Kendall Rae

When Liz was growing up, she just fell in love with Star Wars and Harry Potter.

And for them, like I said earlier, they really connected on Star Wars and Harry Potter.

So they planned a trip to Orlando mainly to check out Universal Studios and Harry Potter World.

He became very interested in the book of revelations, the Bible about the end of the world.

So much so that he was the central figure of the popular 1996 book Into the Wild and the 2007 movie Adaptation, which really popularized him more for the younger generations.

I'm sure most of you have heard of the book and movie called Gone Girl. It's very, very popular. It's about this woman who fakes her death and pins it on her husband.

And this is what Fotus's attorney said Jennifer did. He said that she had the quote, imagination, means and motive to disappear and make it look like her husband was responsible.

And this was a new word for me, I actually learned about this position or position. It's kind of an unofficial position in hockey back when I was researching for cat person and I'm proud of it.

And what's super strange is in the interview one of the first things that Arthur said was how much he loves this one book. And the book is called The Most Dangerous Game.

After watching the movie Wally, which I'm sure many of you have seen, she was visibly upset when she saw that Wally, the robot, was lonely.

She loved to read Brambert, Brambert. What do you see is one of her favorites. Yeah. I love you, Blanky. I love you, Blanky. I loved you since forever.

He helped on the book that I mentioned earlier, Labyrinth and he basically came up with a theory that there were corrupt Los Angeles Police Department officers working with death row records that committed the murders and there actually is a lot of proof of police working with death row records and being on payroll at death row records.

And after this book came out, the theory about the police having murdered Biggie became pretty well known and kind of widely believed by the public who were involved all on certain people in the killing of Biggie.

He was 39, it completely took us all by shock. And we have three little boys, 10, nine and six. And you know, my kids and I kind of wrote this book on the different emotions and grieving processes that we've experienced last year.

Dad is still here, it's just in a different way.

You know, I just watched the struggle that my kids were going through. And I actually, you know, I went on Amazon in Barnes & Noble and trying to find something that we could use to cope at night. Night's are the hardest, it seems like for everybody when dealing with anything. But I just wanted some story to read to my kids at night and I just could not find anything. I couldn't find anything that really suited them or help them find comfort and peace. And so, you know, I was like, let's just write one.

So many of you have probably seen House of Gucci. It came out in November and it stars Lady Gaga and Adam Driver and Jared Leto's in it, a bunch of other great actors. I thought it was so so good but I do know there are mixed opinions about it out there.

So we are going to be talking about the true story behind the new movie House of Gucci which is also a book that came out back in 2020 by Sarah Gaye Forden called House of Gucci.

There's a man out there named Gary who believes his father Earl Van Bess Jr. was the Zodiac Killer and he actually published a book called The Most Dangerous Animal of All where he talks about the reasoning for believing that his father was the Zodiac Killer

So this theory came out in 1953 when a man named Penn Leary actually wrote a book titled The Oak Island Enigma a history and inquiry into the origin of the money pit and in his book he wrote about how the pit was used to hide manuscripts that actually proved that Francis Bacon was the real author of all of William Shakespeare's work

Wagner in his book in 2008 said that he saw her one night on his boat that they were having dinner on a boat, lit by candlelight and that's when he knew he was going to fall in love with her.

I first found out about her after listening actually to her book a few years back, twice.

And there's a lot of details in Jaycee's book about what day-to-day life was like in captivity but basically she was constantly bribed with fast food.

In her book she talks a lot about how she held out hope because of her mother.

In 2013, she wrote an article in LA Magazine about it. And the article that she wrote actually did so well that she got picked up for a book deal.

She started working on the book and she worked on it for years. She was super, super into it. It was a passion project for her. And the writing in the book is incredible.

She's a really good writer, just the way that she words things totally paints a picture for you. And the fact that none of us were actually there to witness. She really somehow captures what it must have been like to be those victims. It's amazing and very well done.

And she was actually almost done writing the book when she suddenly passed away on April 21st of 2016.

In February of 2018, the book was published and it was on the New York Times bestseller list for 15 consecutive weeks. And I have to say it is in my top three true crime books for sure.
