Her mom popped up on Facebook and showed a picture of the book. And I was like, oh, it's on Amazon. And I thought, oh my God, I'm going to buy that book, you know?

We get this email and it's Cori Richenson saying that she wrote a children's book and it's what she believed to be the first book for kids on coping with grief.

I think what was appealing is that she was a grieving mother who was in her 30s raising three small kids.

So she got to work. She dedicated the book to her amazing husband and a wonderful father. It's about a little boy who has lost his dad.

And as he's going through his life, going to school, going on different adventures, he's wondering if his dad is still there. And they're trying to keep that memory a part of his life every day.

He was 39, it completely took us all by shock. And we have three little boys, 10, nine and six. And you know, my kids and I kind of wrote this book on the different emotions and grieving processes that we've experienced last year.

Dad is still here, it's just in a different way.

You know, I just watched the struggle that my kids were going through. And I actually, you know, I went on Amazon in Barnes & Noble and trying to find something that we could use to cope at night. Night's are the hardest, it seems like for everybody when dealing with anything. But I just wanted some story to read to my kids at night and I just could not find anything. I couldn't find anything that really suited them or help them find comfort and peace. And so, you know, I was like, let's just write one.

I'm new to all this, so kind of doing research and reading books and trying to understand, you know, not only how to grieve as a widow, as a wife, but also with my kids, how to help them, how to help them understand what just happened.

Joining us now is author of Are You With Me, Corey Richens to share her three C's to helping kids cope with grief.

The mother of three self-published her children's book Are You With Me? in the months before her arrest in May of last year. The book is about a dying father who, after receiving angel wings, is keeping watch over his small son. Prosecutors may use the book to paint Eric Richens' death as a premeditated murder with a sophisticated cover-up.
