The book is about Shawn Nelson's 25 year entrepreneurial journey, full of advice and stories about lessons learned, early mistakes, and the importance of patience. It was written to be different from other business books, full of pithy sayings and wisdom. It was described as quick and short, and could be read in about an hour.

"

And now we're still going and did it in tandem with that. It's just come out and You know double entendre right is a quick short story. You could read it like an hour But I've I wanted to do something different I read all the business books and I wanted to put something out there that was very different So as you see it's loaded with just gap.

I think it also speaks to, I remember reading that story in the book.

I've known since then a few billionaires and a hundred millionaires. And there's a lot behind the glass that you don't know and you can't know.

And i am at first i didn't i write about this in the book i didn't really buy into that because luck just seems so dismissive but after a lot of bad luck.

And so there's benefit to long stories, there's benefit to short stories. You're always comparing yourself.

She covers the importance of self-worth, advocating for oneself, and navigating the social expectations surrounding negotiations, particularly for women. She highlights the importance of emotional intelligence in negotiating and dispels the myth that negotiators must be confrontational.

"

And if you have not heard about this book, I hope that you will reach out and wherever your favorite places to buy books and get a copy of it.

I think the first thing I do is I tell them it's not a textbook because the minute you about the mindset of a negotiator, successful negotiator, really delves into things like knowing your self worth and being your best advocate and doing so sort of unabashedly and courageously and really knowing that speaking up for yourself first and foremost is your duty and not something that makes you greedy or not something that you should be judged by or the anxiety we have around negotiations.

So I would say that that's probably the first place I would lean today.

This book, the author's first, focuses on building self-reliance through strategies for creating value for others, investing in personal brand development, and adopting long-term thinking. It emphasizes the importance of self-confidence and believing in one's abilities.

"

Self-reliance to me is about betting on yourself. It's about investing in yourself and dedicating time to investing in yourself to have the tools that you need, right?

Self-reliance isn't about being independent. It's not about being alone and not working with anyone. In fact, it's the exact opposite.

And they're telling me the book's giving us confidence. Like, oh, I didn't know self-reliance was about trusting myself. It was about trusting the confidence that I know it's best for me.

So what I'm trying to empower and inspire people through this book is you can rely on yourself. You're more powerful than you think.

I want people to be intentional about their personal brands and I think a lot about personal branding, it's not about self-promotion, it's about idea promotion and it's about your reputation.
