You're going to love this show. It's like a wacko show. It's it's Damon Lindelof, but it's a little off.

I think it's the funniest he's ever been like it's really sort of like a surreal like comedy in a way.

Literally what you're describing when you're like, I would have rather not gone through that is like eternal sunshine.

And like the whole point of that movie is that like, even if you were to just like wipe that from your mind, your memory, your experience, like there is this complete void in your life.

We went to go see the Thanksgiving play starring Darcy Carden.

It's about these four teachers. They're four white people. A couple of them are teachers and they're trying to put on an elementary school play about Thanksgiving because one of them has gotten a grant to do that.

And the play is just about like white people trying to negotiate and rationalize creating art that's not their experience.

It was written by Larissa Fast Horse, who is a Native American playwright who is really, really, really talented and somebody to watch.

And Darcy, you're a star. And the thing is, guess what, people? She will be back on the pod next month.

Someone reaches over and goes, have you read this new book? It's by Isaac Oliver. And it was Isaac Oliver's book. Intimacy Idiot by Isaac Oliver. It was like, this is really good. And then the other guy goes, oh yeah, I actually was at his book signing.

He's really funny.

What comes to mind for me is Almodvar movies, but I don't know if that's a satisfying answer.

It's very clearly to me, like one of the best performances that she has ever given, which is like saying something because she is so unbelievably good.

You have to see this movie if you love Almodvar; like, you must see this movie. It is really, really good.

It's literally just the actors in navy blue clothing on stage and rotating chairs that move about the stage.

She is absolutely unreal. If this isn't a Tony win, then I don't know anything because this is like...

She's literally faced out to the audience pretty much the entire time.

And just to watch her shifts, her control, her focus, it's really...

And if you can go see Jessica Chastain in A Doll's House, you really should if you're a theater person.

This show needs to cut time out of it. We need it just as too long.

Act one was an hour and 45 minutes.

So again, they're also in previews and I think some attention should be focused on getting it trimmed up.

You know what I mean? Like just getting it to move just because it really is long.

It's a new book by Aaron Sorkin which may have something to do with that.

Bowen and I were saying we love the turn.

There's a turn in the movie between our guest character, Ali. And this man that she's been pining for. It's in a bedroom. And that's all we'll say. But it is masterfully executed.

I mean, when Dave and I were putting this movie together, we definitely were just like we just want to hang out with our friends and also with people that are good people.

We had so we had shot Dave's directorial debut, the rental in Oregon, kind of on the Oregon coast. And then we finished it doing, I don't know, five days in Portland. And we sort of set this movie in the Pacific Northwest just to get back up to Portland because it's such a great so great.

I loved this show so, so much. I just it's fab. Fab. And I just shot about my seat at the end.

Like, it's been so long since I've seen like a lean cast like this all doing such incredible work.

It also features a lead performance from Victoria Clark, who is a legend, who is certainly giving one of the best performances on Broadway right now.

I mean, I don't think I've been to like a Broadway performance that I was like really blown away by how real and current and hard the humor felt like.
