We were talking about one of Dr. Elthopp's books that has really blessed my life, Glimpses Beyond Death's Door, People Who Have Lost a Loved One. It's so encouraging and faith-building.

a book that has been deeply helpful to me, my family members was one called Glimpses Beyond Deaths Door, Brent and his wonderful wife Wendy did research on near death experiences and then the gospel and said, how do these and how can they correlate where did they correlate? And it was fascinating a testimony building.

When you mentioned the book, Glimpses Beyond Deaths Door and then Desirette Book asked me to follow up and did a little book called What's On The Other Side.

I picked up a Who's Who in the Bible book. It was a Reader's Digest publication and I specifically picked it up because I wanted to see what they would say about Melchizedek. They call him an enigmatic figure because they're not sure what kind of being Melchizedek is because it says he is without beginning of days or end of years, but the JST changes that to say that his priesthood the priesthood that he held was without beginning of days or end of years. It seems in the Book of Mormon. They understood that and here is Alma's saying this high priesthood was without beginning of days or end of years.

One of the top search results will be from The Joseph Smith Papers website and you click on that and you'll see a picture of the Book of Mormon, 1830 copy of the Book of Mormon.

It's a fantastic resource. My kids frequently say they get lost on YouTube for hours and for me it's The Joseph Smith Papers website. I could stay for hours reading through because you've got the photos right in front of you.

No, it's a book entitled Heroes of the Book of Mormon.

I know that that book, those chapters were not just conference talks put together, but each of them wrote chapters about a favorite Book of Mormon hero.

It was Elder Nelson at the time who wrote about Nephi.

He said, just as the land of Mormon became beautifully sacred to those who came to the knowledge of their Redeemer, so the book of Mormon becomes divinely sacred to the people who read it and come to the knowledge of their Redeemer.

How marvelous, he says, that the book of Mormon, the most powerful instrument upon the face of the earth today for bringing all who will heed its message to the knowledge of their Redeemer should bear the name of this hallowed place.

Whenever you think of the book of Mormon or hear the name Mormon, I hope you will remember the sacred significance of a holy place, a place sanctified by the Spirit.

I don't know why I picked this book to read other than to provide a balance to other books I read. I'm a bitter member of the church who still attends church and is trying to navigate how it fits in my life. I'm struggling spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally, and I found so much to love about what Melissa shared. I told myself I was trying with all my might to make sure we had a good time together, but in reality, I was looking hard for evidence that he was making it impossible.

That's what surprised me so much. What was most on my mind was how can I be a good mother when the father acts like this?

That was a great moment for him to go, these aren't just trees, these are people. Then you kind of see why the Lord cares so much.

Simply stated, if Christ did not rise from the grave as he stated he would do, then he was not the promised Messiah. If Christ has not the power to save the body from death, then he surely has not the power to save the spirit from hell. If he did not break the bands of death and the resurrection, then our hope of deliverance from sin through the atonement is futile and unfounded.
