I'm on a show called Station 11, which is a sci-fi thing based on a book.

Station Eleven, which is a book about a pandemic that was phenomenal before the pandemics.

I've been watching Station Eleven, and it's one of my favorite shows in years.

It is from a novel, a post-apocalyptic virus, actually, pandemic. Very topical.

Are you fucking watching the show of one of my favorite books that I mentioned a million times here, which I think you read Station Eleven?

It's really beautifully done, except for they got to the part where the traveling theater group where I was like, this is too much like college. I have to dip. Sorry. Got to go.

But no, everyone I know, especially writers love it and talk about it a lot. So I know I have to keep going.

It's a book called Station 11 by-

It came out years ago in 2015. Or no, it came out in 2014.

It's a gorgeous book, Station 11 by Emily St. John Mandel.

It's not for the faint of heart right now, but buy it and put it on your bookshelf.

It's one of my favorite books, right?

And that is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Station Eleven is published in 2014. It imagines the world after a pandemic has wiped out almost everyone, about 99% of the human race.

I wrote Station Eleven, which is a novel where 99% of the population dies before I had a child. I don't think I could write it now because imagining the world ending with your child would be orders of magnitude more terrible.

There are a lot of ghosts. There are nonlinear structures where, you know, in Station 11, a character dies on page two or three. But then we get to come back to them.

And that is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. Station Eleven is published in 2014. It imagines the world after a pandemic has wiped out almost everyone.

It has this particular emotional power as a book. It helps you grieve a life you still have.

And so her book, which was already this beloved international bestseller, it found a second life.

You know, I wrote Station Eleven, which is a novel where 99% of the population dies before I had a child. I don't think I could write it now because imagining the world ending with your child ... would be orders of magnitude more terrible.

There's things about the show that are different that I think people that have read the book will appreciate and give them something new to look forward to.

But in the story, both in the book and the show, there is something called the Museum of Civilization.

It's not a spoiler to say that this is a show where a massive portion of the Earth's population is wiped out due to a virus that is has a very, very high mortality rate.

And in it, there is a group of characters that end up kind of creating a safe haven in this airport. And they build something called the Museum of Civilization that highlights things like iPad type things.

And what's startling about that is it is a repository. It's meant to maintain a through line from one generation, one era to the next.

There's all this talk reminds me it's top of mind for me. I just finished it, but the incredible show Station Eleven based on the incredible book Station Eleven, which a lot of people love.

There's things about the show that are different that I think people that have read the book will appreciate and give them something new to look forward to.
