The company is built more in Jeff's image and that's what we see today, even though he's not the CEO anymore, the culture is largely built around Jeff.

I don't see you know that sort of behavior elsewhere when I've covered corporate America.

I think Amazon is a monopoly and should be broken up.

I'm just really interested to know well two questions and one's unrelated to Amazon but do you think if they had to do it again they would have made the type of investment they needed to make and have the distraction of Amazon Prime Video.

I think they're still forging ahead, that's still the mandate is to get the 10 trillion.

So in 2015, Amazon was launching this food brand called Wickedly Prime.

So they set out and hired this executive from Trader Joe's, didn't really tell her what she'd be working on.

And someone reported this to legal. So the people that were involved did get let go.

I would say for consumers, we should be thinking about at what cost.

So I just got to tell you upfront all these other big tech companies I intersect with my world way more because of the media news consumption I mean Jeff Spott the Washington Post of course but just like the disinformation side of things you know the Facebook like we don't give as much scrutiny or thought to Amazon around here so just at the broadest level get us up to speed at what the essential story was that you're trying to tell and what the big potential threats or concerns might be.

Yeah I think for a lot of Americans Amazon's gotten this free pass because it wasn't involved in like election disinformation per se.

And it's become this just behemoth of a company with really no modern analog it's almost like this modern day standard oil to the point where it's literally hard to avoid even if you're not shopping on them there's a very good chance you're using something backed by AWS their cloud server for taking an Uber or Lyft or you're watching Netflix that's an AWS.
