Crying in H Mart A Memoir

I've also read your beautiful book, Crying in H Mart, which got a lot of attention and love. It's a memoir and I told you it is so well-written.

It's very powerful about your connection with your mother and how complicated it is and how there were periods where you were really at odds.

You cling to her as a child and then there's adolescence and you're really fighting her.

I don't know once she's gone...who am I doing this for if not for my mom?

I'm just waiting for you to quit this.

Another book I've really loved recently is Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. It's this memoir of grief and loss about losing your mother and also about her relationship with her husband who she married when her mother was ill because she wanted her mother to be there at the wedding. It helped shape my thinking about grief and loss.

Crying in H Mart is so flipping beautiful. It's like your music, I don't like music that's like too cheerful at trying to trick me that the world is not shit.

And then it like widens to everybody every time. It's like this alone together feeling listening to you, which is the same as your memoir.

I mean, that's essentially what crying in H Mart is. I was crying in this grocery store and I was like, I bet other people have done this, you know? And like, I need to share.
