They'd call you old man at first. Yeah You're like you're too old to go through training what are you doing here and then they quickly realize you're the American sniper

I'm from Kentucky and like we live life different than New York. And you know, so when I first met Gunny Kennefic and he was the old man at the team, I think he was like 30 at the time, which is crazy. But you know, he's an old man on the team. He was a Gunny. He, he had this, like, I called it the New York chip on his shoulder, you know, like just, he had that, just that attitude. Right.

I mean, obviously even Rob O'Neill says, you know, I kind of talk slow and you know, I'm from Kentucky and like we live life different than New York.

Chris was the lead sniper and the point man for Charlie platoon.

He had done the pushup, he had fought in Fallujah.

And so it was just, it was just a perfect fit, perfect fit for him.

We spray-painted it on our hummers and body armor and on our helmets and all our guns. We spray-painted it on every building or wall we could. We wanted people to know, we're here and we want to f*** with you.

And I learned that early on when I did American Sniper, it was the best way to create a human being would be to take all of myself and the research and of Chris Kyle was the human and then the character in American Sniper.

Right after the Bin Laden raid, it was still fresh in my head and I wasn't sure how to - I don't know how you absorb that. And I got a book. Monument. American Sniper just come out and I got a book sent to me and I - and someone told me it was autographed.

And I remember thinking, why would I want an autographed book from another SEAL? And I opened it on the first page. It said, great shot, Chris Kyle. And I was like, well, there's the coolest thing I own. That's pretty neat. So I still have that.
