Homegoing A novel

And the third I would say is a novel written by Yaa Gyasi, Homegoing, which I really think is one of the best novels I've ever read. It is this epic story of generations of the descendants of two sisters from Ghana, the impact of violence and enslavement and multigenerational trauma. And it's really also a story of hope and survival.

She was shut down by the board when she read passages from a book called Homegoing that was available to high schoolers in the district.

That is just I think like maybe the best book I've read in the last five years. If you are into kind of the format of polyphonic fiction.

I think I read it maybe two or three years ago but really, really loved it and in a similar vein this you know for opening the kind of category to things that really left an impression but not just this year.

I think Homegoing and Pachinko were probably top couple books in the last five years at least and the TV adaptation of Pachinko is also so far holding up amazingly well.

I really liked Homegoing recently I read by, I'm going to butcher her name probably, Yaa Gyasi I believe is how you pronounce her name. So you can read that one this weekend.
