One of my favorite books is Endurance by Alfred Lansing about Shackleton's crossing of the Antarctic. Spoiler alert for anyone that hasn't read it, he doesn't do it. In that, one of the things that I really loved is a lot of the guys had diaries and a lot of the guys were writing in the diaries. And what you get to hear is what happened and what everybody else heard from Shackleton. And then you get to see what he wrote in his diary.
