The Madness of Crowds Gender, Race and Identity

Well, I definitely want to read the madness of the crowds new Douglas Murray book supposed to be excellent

And that's why Douglas Murray, who's a brilliant conservative author, as you know, that's why he in his form, not his last book, his previous book, Madness of Crowds, when he wrote about LGB, that was one chapter. And then he separated his chapter on T because he said these things have nothing to do with each other.

seven books, including The Madness of Crowds, which he released in 2019.

his book, The Madness of Crowds, is just well worth your time.

In pushing us to be quote, anti-racist, of course, the language is incredibly racist. The positions being taken are incredibly racist.

It's not, as you've pointed out repeatedly, this movement isn't about equality for various groups that have been targeted historically. It's about better than. It's about elevating them above...

And I always think it's worth crediting when an opponent or somebody you think has come to reprehensible conclusions, nevertheless has started with a serious question.

We can all do that.

It is so despicable, and I think we recognize, everyone in public life recognizes, it would be so despicable to talk about anyone who was black, whether they were a public figure or a private figure, and just talk about them with contempt because of this happenstance of birth.

It's that and Douglas Murray's book, The Madness of Crowds. I just think it was so revealing and it left me glued to my chair when it was over.

We have been going through a great crowd derangement in public and in private, both online and off. People are behaving in ways that are increasingly irrational, feverish, herd-like, and simply unpleasant.

Yet, while we see the symptoms everywhere, we do not see the causes.

It's like my Dianetics. I think it's like the smartest book I've ever read.

The whole ideology of wokery, I mean, starts from a reasonable place.

It's not enough to say women are the equal of men, they've got to be better for a bit.

Your book, The Madness of Crowds, talks about the collapse of grand narratives. One of the biggest collapses of grand narratives was religion.

and in that he's talking about the collapse of grand narratives right he's talking about the fact that people are latching themselves onto ideological movements political movements identity based movements to try and fill what he saw as a whole that had been left with this grand narrative that came over the top

And he wasn't exactly one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, but he wasn't like, he was tangential to that group ... Douglas's second last book, The Madness of Crowds, was all about the collapse of grand narratives.

as our friend Douglas Murray wrote in in his last book...you know when he wrote his chapter on on the gaze the elves and the and the g's the lesbians and the gays he separated that from the teach after very effectively...these things have nothing to do with each other.

Douglas Murray I think he just wrote a book called The Madness of Crowds and certainly not a leftist but also certainly not a conservative Christian either so he could be an interesting person to read.

If you haven't read it, Douglas Murray's last book, the madness of crowds...

one of the great things that he does in the book is he separates the the gay rights issue which was a a march for equality right it was a march for can we enter the same contracts as heterosexual people meaning can we get married and and by the way marriage and then family are the basic building blocks of western civilization so these are things that I believe that if you're a true conservative you should be for you're still entitled to your private religious beliefs on whatever you may think about homosexuality or anything else but you in essence want people to be able to build families that's a that's a key thing right to the operation of of a flourishing society what Douglas did in his book is he separates the gay issue at the gay rights issue from the trans issue which is a very very different beast and you can see it just bursting forth throughout society

not only with Abigail Shryer but with Douglas Murray who wrote extensively about it in the madness of crowds and several other people that it's this thing that's being pushed onto us that affects this tiny portion of people who I would never want to discriminate against but suddenly boys should be in women's bathrooms children should decide whether they're gonna get puberty blockers or not it's just like another thing that sort of widdles away everything that is sort of sensible about society it makes us, it makes good people be unable to have sensible conversations and I think that is a problem and it's actually there's gonna be a through line to some of the other stories that we're gonna talk about but moving forward because I am having this live get together this live meet and greet

It's a great question because in many ways it creates a tension between the wisdom of crowds, which is the heart of all crowdfunding, which technology is bought in full time into, and the madness of crowds, which is one of my favorite books.
