I love Jan Morris's memoir CONUNDRUM. Jan Morris was the British travel writer the incredible travel writer who transitioned fairly late in life or I think in middle age. And this this is a beautiful memoir of that period of her life.

He's the author of many books, including Divided America's Secession Threat and How to Restore Our Nation.

I would recommend the book Radicals for Capitalism by my Reason magazine colleague Brian Doherty. It is a freewheeling history of the modern libertarian movement.

One is Pax, Pax by Tom Holland, not SpiderMan, the British popular historian writing about the peak of the Roman Empire. He's got a fantastic narrative voice and he's one of those historians who really has a way to make his enthusiasm for the subject matter in the period jump off the page.

His newest book is The Enchanters. He's got this infectiously pessimistic, downoneverything voice. He's kind of like the seedy side of it all exposed, using language in a really interesting way.

She is the author of Lower Ed, The Troubling Rise of ForProfit Colleges in the New Economy and the National Book Award nominee, Thick.

Pooja Lakshmin is a psychiatrist and the author of Real SelfCare. She argues that selfcare isn't about lighting a candle or making more time for yoga.

When you read this book, it's like years and years of work. I've been open on Instagram about how after this book launch, I burnt out. I wrote the book Real SelfCare, and then I promptly burnt out.

The first book is called Living Resistance by Caitlin Curtis. It's just, it's beautiful. It's the type of book that you have by your bedside and you read a chapter before you go to bed and then you wake up the next morning and you feel a little different, just a little bit more connected to yourself.

the first book that i want to suggest is a book about libraries i think it's just fantastic by dan green called The Promise of Access and he's got a chapter about the library that just is some of the most solid analysis of what libraries can do and how we need to talk about them

And so there is a book... It's called Troubled Waters. It's a novel by Mary Anas Hegler, and it's just a warm and beautiful and complex story about a Southern Black family wrestling with the climate crisis.

The one COVID one, if I were to recommend it to anyone, is called Lessons from the Covid War, an investigative report. I thought this book was absolutely spot on on the lessons we learned throughout the pandemic.

It was written by the 911 Commission director, and it has a lot of input from a lot of scientists around the United States. And I really enjoyed that book.
