She made some big big true statements about how the founding document of our country is Actively working against marginalized communities and you could feel the buttholes the white buttholes Upper middle-class buttholes clench in that fucking audience and you know what I realized this is second This is most Broadway audiences and picture Sardi's right now I can all of the families in there probably white and I'm I don't mean to like get to this very like reductive level about race, but Broadway audiences The reason I have had to catch up on a lot of theater because I did not grow up in a theater loving family And most families of color probably didn't have access to that either and I'm doing a lot of ketchup culturally but I'm happy to do but I'm realizing that the there is a the gap the gatekeepers are The gatekeepers are white the people are white The gatekeepers are the people who are just sitting in the seats in the first place and they're displacing other people from seeing theater And that's one minute.

It's part memoir, part history lesson, and even part public debate.
