I focus on gender-based violence as a systemic problem. Politicians, courts, schools, and private industry have acted in concert to undermine efforts to quell the varied and complex forms of gender violence.
And I think that is the part that was most disappointing, that I'm still looking for that leader who says gender-based violence, the evidence is in, it is clearly hurting all of us as a society. It's hurting our government, our trust in our institutions. It's hurting people in multiple ways.
