First book is called Due Diligence by David Rudman. He's my coworker now, although he wasn't at the time he wrote the book. It's about microfinance, which is very small loans to low income people. And there was this massive debate about how much microfinance helps people, whether it's the best way to help people. And due diligence is an attempt to sort through a very overwhelming debate among experts and academics from looking at it from multiple angles, getting the right answer. I think it's a great book to read about how to think.
