I remember exploring the shelves, and I remember one book that made such an impression on me called A Way of Love, A Way of Life, A Young Person's Guide to What it Means to Be Gay. This would have to have been the early 80s.
And it just walked me through gay and lesbian history, adolescence and puberty, and all of the things that I was experiencing and feeling and explained it to me in the context that I was feeling.
