Congo by crichton, michael (1980) Hardcover

He requests his parents send two books to him, Congo and The Hobbit, potentially a third book on how to make origami...

The book was a big deal, or at least it was a big deal to me because I don't read books, but sometimes I meet people who read books and I was working with a guy named Chris Darga, who's an actor who I met over the groundlings and we're doing construction. And he was reading this book and he was into it.

I remember the movie came out and I think people are like, ah, not as good as the book, but that's about all I remember.
