I was punishing myself over and over and over again for mistakes that I thought I had made in the past and I wasn't able to comfort that woman in that moment because I still didn't really have the tools but I was so happy to be able to write that in the book because I'm saying it to myself as much as I'm saying it to everyone reading it.

My dad was absolutely terrified of any of us failing because he was walking the tight rope. He and all immigrants walk feeling one wrong move and it would be over.
