I thought that we could all learn so much by trying to figure out how these women had managed to defy the odds. And I thought by telling the stories of these women who had defied the odds, I could learn from them, and other people can learn from them.

This is more important for men to listen to than it is for women. I think a lot of women will find my book resonates, they'll find that a lot of the stuff feels familiar to them and really speaks to them, but the reality is, men have a huge opportunity here in emulating and adopting some of these practices.
