So I have been trying to get various ideas out for years and I determined you know what some people really dig a good story so I sat down with a novelist named Steven Marsh and broke down what I thought would happen maybe in this next election if an independent were to run

and so the independent campaign manager is one of the protagonists journalist named Martha who finds this juicy explosive piece of news is another protagonist they of course are old flames from way back because it's a novel then we go through the months leading up to the next election which could be our last if we don't get our acts together and I give people as much as I can the inside scoop of what it's like to actually run for president from the inside where you can have people trying to do the right thing and it sometimes results in the wrong things

people who read it were like wow I actually didn't think I was going to enjoy it this much and Hollywood is looking at it for movie adaptation so you know it must be good

the independent candidate I will say there's a little bit of me in there just for fun and because I you know I know my own story the candidate slogan is something like do the math actually the actual slogan of the campaign I think is unfuck America better yeah better right but do the math is one of their taglines from like a reality show he was involved in so there's a little bit of Mark Cuban a little bit of me I'm into it

In fact, we have a book right here. Look, it's just because we have all these things is lying around. Hey, shout out to Stephen Marsh who gets cited on this show so often despite the fact we agree on a lot of things. He's researched and written about civil war. He wrote a book with Andrew Yang called The Last Election. I think he's wrong, though. This isn't the last election.

Steven Marsh I reference this guy a lot he wrote a book I think you wrote with Andrian called The Last Election and I think they're making the argument that 2024 could be the last election but if your argument the argument that he's made on all these issues would actually indicate that 2020 was the last election however based on the perspective of Trump supporters 2016 was the last election full stop Democrats think Russia interfered to get Trump elected which means 2012 was the last real election we ever had

And we've also had Stephen Marsh on a couple of times who's written two books. What was the first one called? The Next Civil War or something. But he had one called The Last Election.

And we agree on a lot of the issues, but I think he's dramatically he's substantially ill-informed about what's going on publicly.

He says the right is doing these things. The right will foment civil war.
