Ashley Vance, the guy who wrote the book on Elon, Elon Musk, Tesla, SpaceX, and the quest for a fantastic future, is the best biography, I think, so far on Elon Musk. It's really good. People should read it.

Last week I read this amazing biography of Elon Musk by the reporter Ashley Vance. I cannot recommend this book more. It covers his early life through Tesla and SpaceX. It was published in 2015, a few years before Elon Musk would sink deeply into Twitter.

If you read Walter Isaacson's fascinating and often horrifying biography of Elon, you get the sense that he simply cannot be at peace and instead chooses the storm, chooses chaos and violence because it's less scary to him than being with his own thoughts or even enjoying his own success.

If you read Walter Isaacson's book, that's one of the main conclusions is he's obsessed with rushing these production schedules and pushing up timelines. And whenever someone says, Hey, man, like, you know, we want to do this too, but we just don't think it's possible. He erupts or he fires them or and crucially, in some cases, he says figure it out. And they do. And it works.
